Program Guide Sheet

INTRODUCTION
The OJT training system is designed to help you operate the Palfinger crane safely and incident
free. It is a rig-based system and focuses on the specific tasks of each job. The OJT system
allows you to progress at your own pace, with the help of your supervisor. Don’t hesitate to ask if
there’s anything you don’t understand. Only sign off a practical demonstration if you have
preformed the task.

Completion of the rig specific OJT is a Discoverer India requirement.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this module, you should be able to:

1. Demonstrate a clear understanding of the role of operating the Palfinger crane in a safe,
incident free operation and competently.

TRAINING MATERIAL
The Palfinger Crane Operator OJT Module includes:

1. A mandatory task list, which is a list of jobs you must be able to perform;
2. A tool list, which is a list of supporting reference that will be available in the manual.
3. Review questions.

TRAINING PROCEDURE
The Palfinger Crane Operator OJT Module task list is the measure of progress in your training. As
you prove competence, your supervisor will sign off each specific task. Completion of the task list
is mandatory.

When you finish the requirements and signed by your supervisor hand your module to your
Supervisor to confirm completion.
If unable to complete during your hitch file in the filing cabinet on the rig floor and continue upon
your arrival of the following hitch.
On successful completion of the task list, your supervisor will fill sign the last page then forward to
the rig RSTC for signing off by the OIM then filed. The completed task list is to be kept on file at
the location of your work assignment.
