How to apply for a School Opal card (bus pass)

To be eligible for a School Opal card, students may need to live a minimum distance from their school.
For High School you MUST live 2.0km straight line distance or 2.9km walking distance from your child’s
school.

If you can answer yes to this distance you need to:

1. Complete the application online at www.transportnsw.info/school-students (if you don’t

qualify for a bus pass you will be told while completing application).

From here the school will be advised of the student’s application and it will be processed electronically.

The School Opal card will be sent to the student’s home address provided on the application.

If you have lost your School Opal card

If you have lost your card you need to visit www.transportnsw.info/school-students or call 131500 to
order a new School Opal card.
