Diagnosing faults
When a colibri coffee machine indicates "out of order" pushing any selection buttons will reveal
the error message .

Resetting errors

Push program button on the inside of door panel three times.The lcd will read present failures
.Push bottom right key on outside of door .Then push second key down from top right to confirm
.Lcd should read no faults

Error messages and Remedies

waste container full this is effectively a programmed reminder that comes up every 50 cups to
insure the drip tray does not over- flow .Remove drip tray and the coffee grounds collection bin
with the yellow operator key pushed into switch on top centre of frame .TIP The machine does
not know you have emptied the drip tray unless the power is on to the front end of the machine ie
the yellow key is in position or the front door is closed .reset the error as above to complete .

Vol counter This is the device that measure the water flow from the mains and pumps .If this
indicates .reset the error and then run flush cycle button on the inside of the door .if the error
return .Switch of the power at the mains remove the back of machine .and look in the back right
corner for a golf ball sized black device with two brown tubes one coming from header tank and
one heading off to the pump. crimp the hose from the header tank or remove and drain to a
bucket .remove plug and remove remaining hose .then blow throw the device to clear .it should
rattle like whistle if its clear.Re install and try again .While your in the back check to see if there
are any water leaks as leaks can also trigger the Vol Counter error message .

NO Water Check for kinks in water line supplying machine . disconnect water line to rear of to
relieve pressure and reconnect .Mains inlet solenoid .Reset error as above Remove back panel
and .Check header tank is full .

General Fault finding

Brew group action is uneven .Remove Brew group Push program button once LCD will read
maintenance scroll through options using top right key untill SPEC FUNC then press second
key down on right .This will cause the brew group motor to reset and return to home
position.tighen cam pin that inserts into rear of brew group.if after tightening there is still some
movement the Reducer motor cogs have worn and the motor needs replacing .if you notice that
there are scrape marks on the metal arm on brew group rear then reducer motor wear has
probably been caused by incorrect positioning of brew group ie the cam pin has not been
positioned in the designated whole .

Loose pucks Adjust grind wheel located below coffee bean hopper rotate bezel toward small
dots to make grind finer .Allow a couple of cups for machine to catch up with your adjustment

long exposure to heat may have caused brew chamber to loose its shape

Cups are not filling to correct levels .indicates sticking valves located on top of boiler .or grind
has beenset too fine .adjust griner wheel rotating wheel towards lrage dots for coarser grind

Milk or chocolate is not being dispensed Clean mixing bowl check pipes ,remove mixing bowl
and with yellow key in position and cup positioned to collect coffee hold another cup over white
tube feeding mixing bowl and below powder shute then make a moccacino observe powders are
being dispensed being careful as boiling water will be shooting from white tube.Check whipper
wheel is rotating ..if the whipper blade is not rotating  remove the whipper blade by blocking the
cog  with your finger and rotating the blade anti clockwise. You will often see a gum like residue
of choc  wrapped around the axle.Continue with a screw driver to release the mounting screws
and clean behind the whipper blade mount.

Water filter/water softner its high recommended that water filters and water softners are
installed to improve quality of water running through the machine.This will effectively decrease
neccessity for servicing of boiler seals & valves .Hard water will damage valve/nucleus and
phosphates cause build up on elements and temp probe.
