NORWAY
 It is believed that the name Norway means “Path to the North”. Norway is the sixth largest country of Europe, in terms of land mass.
Norway was rated the most peaceful country in the world, in a survey conducted by Global Peace Index in 2007.
 Norway is counted amongst the wealthiest countries of the world. However, in terms of population, it ranks only 28 th. As per Ency-
clopedia Britannica, Norwegians read more than any other population in the world.

Bjorn Kjos
 Bjorn kios is a Norwegian aviator, lawyer, author and businessperson.
 He is the largest owner and CEO of Norwegian Air Shuttle, Scandinavia's second largest airline.
 In 1993, following the bankruptcy of the airline Busy Bee, Kjos started Norwegian Air Shuttle, using Fokker 50 aircraft to
fly regional routes in Western Norway for Braathens SAFE.
 Kjos chaired the company from 1993 to 1996. In 2002, Kjos transformed Norwegian Air Shuttle into a low-cost airline, and
leased eight Boeing 737-300s. Since Kjos took over as CEO of the regional airline in 2002, Norwegian Air Shuttle has be-
come the second-largest airline in Scandinavia.

GUADELOUPE
 Guadeloupe is an island of 405,000 people located in the eastern Caribbean Sea. Guadeloupe is an overseas territory of
France and covers a total land area of 1600 km².
 Almost half of the French soccer player National team is from Guadeloupe. Guadeloupe is a Melting Pot community so
there is all kind of ethnicity. There are no mosquitoes in Guadeloupe.
 In 1493, explorer Christopher Columbus "discovered" pineapple on the West Indies island of Guadeloupe.

 Europe was boiling with industrial activity, world economy advanced headstrong in the field of technology, and anti-
slavery began to gain considerable ground, especially in Anglo-Saxon territories.
 England abolished slavery for good in 1833, and gave back its freedom to a population living in the vicinity of Guadeloupe.
 Into this context arrived a man, Victor Schoelcher (1804-1893), to denounce all incertitude by his perseverance.
 He was to be remembered by local population for his undeniable pioneering role in the abolishment of slavery.
 He had been involved in the cause since the 1830s, and had never since abandoned to preach the only true answer to
issue: total abolishment of any slavery.

GRENADA
 Area: 340 sq km; (133 sq miles), Population: 106,500 (207 EIU est.), Capital City: St George's (population: 33,734)
 The highest point in Grenada is the top of ‘Mount Saint Catherine’ that sits at an altitude of 840 meters (2755 feet).
 Lake Antoine, Grand Etang Lake and Levera Pond all formed in craters of extinct volcanoes.
 The English named St. George's after the British king, George III.
 Grenada is also known as the Spice Islands as it is an important world supplier of nutmeg, mace and other spices.
