Factors
1. Economic policy
Poland has pursued a policy of economic liberalization and stands out as a success story
among transition economies. It was the only country in the European Union that
maintained a positive GDP growth rate during the 2008-2009 recession. GDP per capita
is still below the EU average, but equal to that of the three Baltic states. Since 2004, EU
membership and access to EU structural funds have provided a major boost to the
economy. By 2019 the Polish economy has been growing steadily for the past 28 years, a
record high in the EU and only surpassed by Australia in the world economy. GDP per
capita at purchasing power parity has grown on average by 6% p.a. over the last 20 years,
the most impressive performance in Central Europe resulting in the country increasing its
GDP seven-fold since 1990.
 Some main indicators in Poland in 2020
GDP (billion USD): 594.18
GDP per Capita: 15
General Government Balance (in % of GDP): -7.2
General Government Gross Debt (in % of GDP): 57.7
Inflation Rate (%): 3.4
Unemployment rate (% of Labor Force): 3.2
 It can be drawn from some above indicators that Poland has a stable development
in economy due to the low percentage in inflation rate as well as unemployment
rate. Hence, this country is supposed to be a great market to attract foreign
investors.

2. Tax policy
Imports of goods subject to VAT in Poland are deemed to mean imports of goods from
outside the EU into Poland. Poland is a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO)
and the European Union (EU). Poland applies the EU external tariff system to goods
imported from other countries outside the EU, including Vietnam.
3. Opportunities
Along with the diplomatic system that has been established for more than 70 years,
Poland is a large import and export market of Vietnamese goods to the EU, especially,
but since the EVFTA has taken effect from August 1, 2020, the opportunity to do
business between two countries is greater.
