Passive Sonar LOPAS
DISCOVER THE UNKNOWN
LOPAS is a passive sonar system for refit on board a submarine during modernization or for new
designed small submarines. The key benefit is its unbeaten cost effectiveness caused by focusing
on essential features for an effective submarine operation. LOPAS operates with all present bow
arrays or L-3 ELAC Nautik’s own supply.
Key Features
Broadband detection
Audio recording
KE 9 hydrophones
Meets all relevant military standards
The hydrophone array can be re-used as well or refitted with new supplies by
Extensive re-use of existing onboard L-3 ELAC Nautik, e.g. different KE 9 hydrophone types that replace P20 or P200
components hydrophones. The same applies for the outboard cables. Even a complete new
hydrophone array may be designed and delivered.
