 What does Self-regulation means?

By studying articles, group discussion & videos i found that self regulation is a way how to manage mixed
of emotions in different way. Then the most important part is knowing one self. Find out the best way
how to turn bad habits in good. We need to fix the problem about self management by studying one's
different drives. What is good and bad for a person he/she must be able to identify. Then make a
appropriate solution for improving self regulation. Another part of self management is stress . Make a
better idea for overcome stress level. What is the most perfect solution for it listening music, reading
books, watch videos? Find out fist then apply it for better outcome. Impulse control is the another
important part for self management. In shortly we can call it short temper problem but it hampers self
regulation level badly. One of the best solution for it is "No instant reaction" for negative and toxic word.
Know one's strength and weakness level & how he /she overcome from different critical situation level by
analysis it we can get a better version of self regulation.So the main facts of self regulation is know one's
pros and cons deeply and try to develop it in better way.

Self-regulation is one’s ability to plan and monitor one’s thinking and actions in staying motivated to meet
their personal learning goals. It includes managing anxiety, being aware of one’s thought processes so one
can monitor success, regulate effective learning strategies, and manage one’s time, attention, and focus
toward the goal. Then the individual delay’s gratification until they meet a certain point within their
lifespan. There are three key elements to self-regulation, which involves self-monitoring, self- instruction,
and self-reinforcement. The idea behind the self-regulation theory is when an individual pays attention to
their behavior by self-monitoring, create reminders of tasks through self-instruction, and reap the
reinforcement benefits of reaching the desired response of the self-reinforcement phase. Being self-
regulated means we're able to "bounce back" from negative feedback, which stops us from wallowing in
self-pity and being less productive at work. And, if other people see we're able to keep calm under
pressure, and accept feedback without getting upset, they're more likely to trust us with important work
and projects. It also make us more approachable.

Self-regulation skills are most important elements of emotional intelligence. That relate how
someone manage or control his/her thoughts. For increasing positive attitudes and academic
performance, it would be helpful. This technique allows learner to organize concepts. Self-
regulation learning strategies help to prepare learners for lifelong learning and the important
capacity to transfer skills, knowledge, and abilities from one to another.
I have learn this three self-regulation process for improving myself:
Make a Plan: Make a plan for how to improve in pa
rticular area. Without proper planning, I cannot accomplish goals.
Monitor: After making a plan observe and check the progress of work and to keep under systematic
review (like: grades, homework submission, performance in sports). If I make a plan but don’t
monitor how can I progressing that plan, it probably won’t be accomplished.
Evaluation: Evaluation is about increasing confidence in taking action. After monitoring plan
identify strategies to make changes.
Example: If I want to improve academic performance.
Make a Plan: If I don’t have any clear goal in your mind, I won’t be have a clear picture of where
I want to reach. Having a clear set of goals is most important.
Monitor: For accomplishing target need to stays clear and fresh, start keeping everything in
organized way. Also, prepare a time table for studying and accomplishing other activities that
everything is completed effectively.
Evaluation: Even if I give too much time for studying a concept, that might not be enough until I
give enough time on revising it too. Understand the lack of ability which need to improve. Practices
on concepts will help in creating a greater understanding.
