130 -
8.6.1 Problems in the IBS system using the CCD camera
t 1) In the WHA-50, the IA adopts the CCD camera whic,h has- the mech-ani9a]rotationmechanism.

Accordingly, it is diff, rcult to disassemble the IA at a local site, and the luminance of the output
fluorcscent screen in the view point of the IA independently can be hardly measured.

I
2) It is known that the sensitivity of the CCD camera is hardly deteriorated. The aging
deterioration of the luminance of the IA can be managed using the CCD camera.
I

3) Supplement description of the pafameter standard values in the IBS system

a) The standard of the sensitivity of the IBS system is such that the video signal at the test point
TPt in the CCU is 160 mV rvhen the input dose 3 mR/min is given to the IA.
b) The relation between 3 mR/min and 160 mV can be modihed using the iris. At the tirne of
installation, 8 steps (in 7 inch) or 16 steps (in 9 inch) is set by the DIP switch provided on the
IzuS CONT PC Board.

S,,,. c) During installation, each IA conversion coefficient is dift-erence actually. Accordingly,

u,hen rhe stay knob ol the iris is fixed, thc input dose 3 mR/min may bc a littlc dispersed

against the video signal 160 rnV. For example, this dispersion is represented in the

allorvable tubc voltage ra-nge 67 to 71 kV in the IBS balance point using thc 19 cm acrylic
object

8.6.2 lnspection of the aging deterioration of the luminance of the lA

It is recommended to record and store the IBS balance conditions at the time of instaliation. At a

periodical inspection, you can measure. thc voltage at TP1 under thc same condition.s rvith those at

installltion, cr you can obtain the change lincrease) in thc input X-ray quaniity require'J to

n.,r.,*i,ilO0 mV at TP1 in order to know the change in lurninance-

8.6.3 Adjustment of the iris

-& \\/hen thc luminance of the IA is deteriorated, rviden the iiis b1'decreasing the number of iris .steps

so rhat the kV balance value at the timc of installation can be assut'ed. If the initial kV balance
