National institute of jewellery technology is an undertaking under ASIDE


Scheme of the Government of India, executed under the aegis of U.P.
Government. It is the only institute of its kind in the state of Uttar Pradesh and
has been conceived with a view of training functionaries at all levels to contribute
to the enhancement of the Gems and Jewellery industry by inducting trained
manpower into it.

Institute is situated at Rithani Meerut and run by Meerut Gems and Jewellery
Export Promotion Society an apex body of Leading Jewellery manufacturer and
traders of Meerut. The institute is equipped with all Modern facilities as A.C
rooms Projectors, and most modern equipment’s and machines for providing
most advance education in jewellery field. Institute has a modern infrastructure
having basement plus three storied building in lush green area. Institute have well
experienced faculty and staff having vast experience in Academics, industry and
trade.

1. Diamond and Diamond Grading

• Identifying Diamonds
• Distinguishing Diamond from CZ & Moissanite
• Identification of Natural and Synthetic Diamond (CVD &HPHT
PROCESS)
• Identifying treatments
• GIA Standard certification on basis of 4 C’s (Cut, Color, Clarity and
Carat)
• Mining and extraction of diamonds
• Weight estimation in mounted diamonds
• Rappaport Valuation of Diamond (pricing)
2. Gemstone Identification Course

• Identification of Gemstones
• Differentiation Natural from Synthetic (Lab Grown) Stones
• Identifying treatments (Heating, Dyeing, Diffusion etc)
• Usage Of instruments (loupe, Microscope, RI, Polariscope Etc)
• Practice Of gemstones on 10 X also.

THE JEWELRY DESIGN COURSE

• Learning rendering for yellow and white metals, as well as faceted and
cabochon gemstones and pearls
• Illustrating rings and other pieces of jewellery
• Learning about sources for jewellery design inspiration and developing
motifs to create jewellery objects
• Rendering jewellery designs using drafting tools for display as a
participant in the final class design exhibition
• Creating a portfolio of class projects and custom designs that is ready for
presentation to potential clients and employers.

• Create CAD models within the metrics of scale, proportion, and element

relationships

• Develop CAD models within the constraints of cost, time, size, style, and

manufacturing methods

• Distinguish between various CAD software and various CAM methods,

including 3D printing

• Model and render manufacturable pieces of jewellery using CAD
