Grade 6 teacher, initiates reading
assessment through the localized
reading materials made by him
designed for slow and non-
readers. He also gave
interventions to his pupils who
were not able to submit the
modules on time.
Leonora R. Cabrera,
Grade 1 teacher, 58 years old,
embraced the risk of visiting her
pupils. She assessed the reading
skills of her pupils to help them in
their difficulties such as poor
recognition of letters and
decoding of words.

ensure the quality instruction amidst the
pandemic. Here are some of our best
practices in order to adapt in the
demands of the present situation of
education.
Teachers continuously update
their knowledge and skills through LAC
Sessions. Our school head, Mrs. Marilou
P. Recto also encourages teachers to
have FGDs with their co-teachers and
share their practices. They created
localized reading materials to support
learners’ reading skills and conducted
home visitations to give interventions for

PPES teachers (Mr. Pionilla, Ms. Argelyn, Mrs.
Alejandro, and Ms. Jobelle) reach out their pupils through
home visitations on the purpose of determining the cause
of not submitting the modules, reading assessments, and
further encourage parents/learners to continue the
modular distance learning modality.

extend their help and support for their
learners through distributing school
supplies like pad papers, pencils, ball
pens and notebooks.
To ensure the safety of
everyone, it is always important to bear
in mind and take an action on
“Prevention is better than cure.” Our
school strictly follows and implement the
IATF safety protocols against the
spread of COVID-19 virus through
wearing facemask, face shield, physical
distancing, checking the temperature of
school personnel and parents upon
entering the school premises, and
disinfection before and after the retrieval
and distribution of modules.
Ms. Argelyn L. Fanugon, a
Kinder teacher for almost 2 years,
gathered her pupils in a safe and
ventilated place with the consent of
their parents. She gave an
assessment on letter recognition
using her laptop as instructional
tool.
Ms. Jobelle J. Oabel, Grade 3
Teacher, made sure that she
prepared all the materials needed
like home visitation forms, authority
to travel, certificate of appearances,
and intervention materials. She
also wears mask and brings alcohol
to practice health protocol. Her
target objectives are monitoring of
pupils’ modules, assessing reading
skills, identifying reasons of delayed
submissions and providing
interventions for struggling learners.
