When can remote inspection be used?
NON-REGULATED INSPECTION
Standards for inspection companies allow to use alternative
inspection methods such as remote inspection. That means that
the accredited inspection body can chose methods for examination/
evaluation as long as the inspection body:
 Has a relevant order control system;
 Verifies and appropriately checks the information obtained
through such inspection method;
 Records observations or data in a timely manner, prevents loss
of information;
 Has documented instructions for carrying out such inspections
in a safe manner.

REGULATED INSPECTION
?
Possibility to use remote inspection methods for regulated
inspection has to be checked with the regulator for each single
case.
In the example of PED, in most of the cases a qualified person on
sight is required and unless there is a special permission from the
accreditation authority, it is not allowed to be done remotely.
Examples of cases when remote inspection could be accepted:
- Review of documentation
- Reoccurring inspection in the situation when there is no
possibility to have a qualified personnel on site (e.g. force
majeure)

authority directly and promptly in order to provide our clients with
the most reliable information on inspection options.
