Heated hoses from Robatech are particularly impressive thanks to their flexibility and durability.

They
can be used in a fixed installed position or in drag chains.
The variety of heated hoses includes different versions, internal diameters and lengths, and therefore
covers a wide application area across various industries. In addition to standard heated hoses, high
pressure hoses and heated hoses for wet operation, for example, are also available.
There is a diverse range of accessories and installation tools for the heated hoses. This enables the
heated hoses to be connected to the adhesive melter and application head using various connectors
(0°, 45° and 90°). The new EasyFix hose holders make installation easier and ensure the minimum
spacing between the heated hoses to protect against overheating.

Heated hoses from Robatech are made from the very highest-quality materials and offer the distinct
benefits of excellent precision and a long lifetime. At the core of the heated hose is an inner PTFE
hose, which is even resistant to aggressive hot melts and has a temperature resistance of more than
200 °C. The inner hose is reinforced with a stainless steel mesh, affording a high degree of compres-
sive strength.
This steel mesh is used to install the heating coil and the NTC temperature sensor, which is thermally
insulated by means of silicone foam insulation. On the exterior, braiding protects the heated hose's
heat insulation against mechanical damage. The ends of the heated hose feature impact-resistant
caps with the electrical connections. A sealing head with a spigot connects the heated hose to the ad-
hesive melter and the application system.
The heated hose is designed to maintain the temperature of the adhesive and not to heat it. Incremen-
tal differences in the nominal temperature between the device, the heated hose and the application
head is therefore only practical for low application quantities. In the case of high application quantities,
these three heating zones should be at approximately the same nominal temperature to ensure that
the adhesive is applied at the required temperature.

Heated hoses must not be modified (e.g. in order to perform other applications).
Only original spare parts or standard parts approved by Robatech may be used to replace de-
fective parts.

A parts status is assigned to each heated hose. The following statuses have a direct
impact on delivery time.
Heated hoses with the status t can be supplied by Robatech CH ex stock.
Heated hoses with the status p cannot be supplied by Robatech CH ex stock.

Correct Incorrect
Unroll the heated hose.
Prevent the heated hose
from twisting.
Torsion may damage the
heated hoses.

A torque spanner
should be used. Counterhold
with an open-ended span-
ner.
Prevent the heated hose

Avoid twisting the heated

hose in applications involv-
ing movement.

Use suitable connectors.

Avoid kinks.

Standard heated hoses are used for static installation and for drag chain applications.
The abrasion-resistant protective braiding offers optimum protection in the case of moving applica-
tions.

The heated hoses are not suitable for torsional stress. This may lead
to a reduction in lifetime.
In the event of torsional stress, Robatech recommends using a rotary
feedthrough.
Life span The lifetime can be shortened by mechanical stress (movement),
temperature, adhesive, etc., which is why heated hoses must be re-
placed periodically as required.
