Five ways

to boost your

creative juice

1. Embrace analogue.
Go back to good old-fashioned analogue from time to time. Spend one
day every week where you replace tech with something… not digital.

Read a book instead of a Kindle, write in a journal instead of on a digital

screen, use a film camera instead of a digital one.

If your hands are moving, your brain is roaming. And, I’ll bet you
anything that you’ll enjoy the art of creating over the strain of
consuming. ️

2. Learn and learn more.
Read some articles (I recommend The New Yorker and Medium) or a
few non-fiction books.

You’ll gain new-found knowledge. You might not remember it all, but
some parts will stick. Those are the parts that might lead to a new blog
idea or a new book idea.

3. Ditch the computer.
Go a walk, read a book, draw a picture, take a photo, drive in your car.

The computer is a wonderful source of inspiration but sometimes it just

gets a little bit too clingy and you might need a breather. ‍

4. Ask a kid.
Truly, this one is great.

Remember how vibrant your imagination was as a kid? We were

dreamers!

Listen to a kid talk for an hour about random things with not a care for
the finer details.

Just because you’re an adult, doesn’t mean you should stop dreaming
big and feeling creative.

5. Visit a bookstore.
After lockdown, obviously.

Sometimes you just need to be surrounded by the smell of good books

and coffee, right?
