Narrative Report
Our subject National Training Service Program (NSTP) has given us a project to
host a webinar to raise awareness and share knowledge to people regarding the issues
and misconceptions that we face today. Our group known as “Team Summit” has
decided to tackle the topic about the misunderstandings and myths against covid-19
vaccines which titled as vaccination: “An Awareness Webinar Addressing Covid-19
Vaccines” because it is timely and one of the biggest ongoing debates among the
people in the Philippines.

On the first day our group has yet to choose a leader. We picked between May
and Kirsten, and in the end, May has won the crown of leadership. Right after that, she
asked us to have a brainstorming to gather and collect data about covid vaccines and
all of the facts that is medically correct in the trusted websites in the internet. The
second day has come and we finally collected enough data, so our leader May divided
the “roles” for everybody to enact. We were also asked to make a short video about the
wrong ideas of people regarding the vaccine. The next day May decided that we should
have a dry run for our webinar so that each of us will be able to practice our speech,
timing and roles. At first it was kind of confusing and disoriented. But it certainly helped
us in a way that we have discovered what and what we shouldn’t do on our real
performance at May 29, 2021. Then our professor scheduled us for a dry run where she
is our one and only audience. We somehow pulled it off with a smile because she
praised our effort and said that there are only a few more things that we should fix to
make our performance seamless. After all of that we just did a little bit more of practices
to “almost” straighten out everything to achieve what we are expecting to happen when
the real deal comes.

May 29, 2021 finally landed and our team has been definitely anxious yet excited
to share our knowledge with our participants. The time has come and our dear
professor, Ms. Portento signals us to start our webinar. The webinar began with the
mesmerizing voice of our amazing emcee, Margareth Louise Alcala. She welcomes all
the participants and to properly start the webinar we commence the prayer and the TIP
Hymm. In order to break the seriousness, we prepared an ice breaker wherein the
audience will guess what we are sketching on the screen and of course the winners will
receive cash prize. Moreover, Al Joseph Veliganio appears to introduce the vaccines in
general, how it works, its ingredients, and the clinical trials it undergoes before shown to
the market. For the audience to widen their knowledge about the vaccines, Shaine Kyla
Gomez and Vince Cedrick Moscosa explains the types of vaccines and how it works in
the body. The vaccine timeline and Covid-19 vaccine timeline are put into words by Lee
Ann Imperial wherein she expounds the process of the vaccines. Afterwards, May Reis
Balag and Kirsten Rendon profoundly discuss the different covid-19 vaccines available
here in the Philippines and its side effects for the viewers to be aware that all vaccines
have its side effects which is totally normal. Then, misconceptions videos about the said
vaccines prepared by our team are played and it is being debunk by Shaine, Vince, and
Christian Raye Labe. For the sake of awareness, Carl Vincent Olaya presents to us how
and when can each of us be vaccinated through online platforms and on-site. Kristina
Jushel Palermo reminded everyone what should we do after being vaccinated and she
summarize the whole webinar. Before finally closing the webinar, we prepared another
game for the viewers which is the gibberish. Lastly, it was close by our emcee by an
inspiring word of wisdom and encourage the participants to open their minds of the
possibility of getting vaccinated because all vaccines are made in order to minimize the
hospitality rate.

After all of our struggles we managed to snatch a “Good job and awesome
performance” from our professor. She really said that we and the other team that also
performed that day that we have set a high standard because of our great performance.
Our group name “Summit” isn’t just for show after all. Thanks to all of the members for
your amazing performances and also to our supportive professor. In conclusion, being
the host of a webinar is a huge responsibility and speakers must undergo practices in
order to seamlessly perform the webinar. Cooperation, discipline, and trust to your
groupmates is the key for an awesome and educational webinar where participants can
learn something from us which they can also share within their community.
