STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

It is with a sincere sense of gratitude towards the opportunity given to me, I Mr MALLU
JAYA SREEKANTH REDDY pen down this statement. Education is the only main source
to expand the way of thinking and opens up new ways to explore and invent things, which can
enhance the strength of mind and thereby expand the intellect of man. The science and
technology which we are using in our day to day life had inspired and spiked my interest to
achieve something. My interaction with computers begun at a very early age when I started
gaming at age 7 and was astounded when I got to know its functionalities. My parents didn’t
hesitate to say yes when I proposed pursuing a Master’s. They wanted me to continue
education and research which filled lots of enthusiasm in me. Then I strongly decided on
tackling computers and dreamt to succeed in it.

Academic Background
I have successfully completed my 10 years of schooling and secured 7.8 GPA in my X
standard. During the period I had special interest in mathematics and take up mathematics,
physics and chemistry as my majors in Intermediate where I achieved 78.6%. During my
Undergraduate I had taken up Electrical & Electronic Engineering in Sathyabama Institute
of Science & Technology which is deemed to be University, one of the premier institutes in
Tamil Nadu. I passed this Under Graduation course with an aggregate of 6.76 CGPA. During
under graduation studies I have done in-plant training in Rayalaseema Thermal Power Plant
(RTPP) for better understanding on every detail of power plant. And I’ve made few
presentations on Power Generation by Trees which have received huge applause towards my
research.

Under graduation course work

I have basic knowledge in fundamentals of Electrical Engineering especially in the fields of
Electrical Machines, Electronic Devices, Circuit Theory, Electronic Circuits, Power
Electronics, High Voltage Engineering, Power Systems and Control Systems. I had found
interest in subjects like Network Theory, Digital Signal Processing and Microprocessors. I
have also been made acquainted with programming languages like C & C++, Oracle. Apart
from this there are several other facets of life. Believing this, I have always tried to be in the
forefront of extra-curricular activities right form childhood.

Project work
I was the team leader for the project entitled “Automated Controlling System For
Traction Using Raspberri Pi” under the guidance of Asst Prof Abitha Memala W, at my
college (Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology). The project deals with “Automating
and controlling the traction for preventing the train accidents.” Therefore a new technology is
developed to avoid accidents due to obstacles on track, to control the railway gate and to
increase the sophistication of the passengers with real-time implementation. Internet of Things
(IoT) is used in automating all the mentioned problems. And published in
“INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ADVANCED SCIENTIFIC INNOVATION IN
SCIENCE, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY”
Why U.S?
I believe that the American University is good for me because America is the land of
freedom and opportunity, and I want to utilize it to the full potential. I want to become more
creative and open up my mind to the various technologies as the technology in your country is
light years ahead. Since I want to do my master's in computer science I have to be up-to-date
with the latest trends and learn how to apply them. I want to completely exploit the professor’s
knowledge and the various services in the university, and I strongly believe that I can uphold
the rules and principles set by the university.

The Graduate program at Cleveland State University ideally suits to my goals and
aspirations. After going through the university’s website, I realized that there also exists a vast
amount of opportunities, especially outstanding technological facilities, in your department. I
do realize that I nurture ambitious dreams in my life, which will gain momentum with
enrolment in your prestigious institution as it would give me the rare chance of interacting
with the brightest minds in the business along with accessing the thousands of research papers
published in the leading global platforms. I am confident that opportunity given to me, I will
be able to make significant mark in my field of study.

Summing up
In my perception to pursue research oriented graduation degree after Under graduation
needs lots of self determination, strong knowledge and motivation with constant potential to
accomplish the research works. I prefer to continue my graduation degree at your university
because of its valuable education and professionally experienced faculties. Cleveland State
University offers enormous research program and opportunities to fulfil my desire towards
