McDonald’s is one of the major players in the quick service restaurants industry in U.S. It is a leading
global foodservice retailer with more than 32000 local restaurants serving more than 60 million people
in 117 countries each day. More than 75% of the number of restaurants worldwide are owned and
operated by independent local men and women.
It has won many corporate accolades like Forbes, Fortune 500, Interbrand, Barron’s, Business
Bloomsberg. Business Week, Corporate Responsibility Magazine etc. In 2010 McDonald’s had a total
number of 32737 franchise and company operated restaurants. It has its presence in U,S, Europe,
APMEA ( Asia Pacific Middle East and Africa).

Dividend History:
Since going public in 1965, McDonald's has paid twelve stock splits. In fact, an investment of $2,250 in
100 shares at that time, had grown to 74,360 shares worth over $4.6 million as of year-end market close
on December 31, 2009.
McDonald's has raised its dividend each and every year since paying its first dividend in 1976. Given the
substantial increase to the Company's dividend over the last several years, McDonald's Board of
Directors has decided that beginning in 2008, dividends declared will be paid on a quarterly basis.
On September 22, 2010, McDonald's Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.61 per
share of common stock payable on December 15, 2010 to shareholders of record on December 1, 2010.
