LEARNING ACTIVITY 4.

CASE STUDY

I. Introduction

Covid-19 undoubtedly impacted our day to day lives. Our once normal
and functional community suddenly came to a halt and had sudden turn
because of the pandemic. Our barangay Victoria is located at Alicia, Isabela,
with a population of 2,000 people and is currently being led by a group of
people that are called barangay kagawad which is being led by the barangay
captain. It has a community kind of governance structure where the decision-
making and community leadership are executed by community members that
have a vested interest in the community. By focusing on community instead
of the non-profit, for-profit, and government sectors, community
governance distinguishes itself from other forms of governance. Our
community’s form of public service is performed by barangay tanod that
guide and ensure people’s safety as we cross the highway from one side to
another. They mainly offer their services to children who want to cross the
road to go to school which is located along the highway where the brgy.
tanod are stationed. Other forms of public services include free
transportation through a public vehicle provided by the barangay council; the
driver is also accessible in any time of need.

II. Presentation and Analysis of the Problem and Its Possible Solutions

The problem is that Covid-19 hugely affected the businesses and paying
jobs of the people in our community. A lot of us lost a great deal of money,
including our future revenue, current money, and savings. And there are also
a lot of us who doesn’t have any idea on how to get back on our feet and
recover from our loss. My proposed possible solution to this is to trade
and/or buy products and avail services from each other, this way, the
members of community will earn while others are being rest assured that the
products and services we’ll get comes from good sources and follows covid-
19 safety protocols. The other solution is for us to form an online website or
store that sells unique products that we made in the comfort of our homes
and other basic necessities that are needed during these times and have those
shipped to the people who ordered them.
III. Conclusion

Yes, this pandemic impacted my community and the world for the worst,
however; we cannot control these kind of things from happening, so it’s
none of our fault or responsibility, but what we are responsible for is how we
act during and after this hits us, would we let this pandemic get the worst of
us, or will we look for profound ideas to get back to our feet and continue
living?

I conclude that we can recover from the impact of Covid-19 through

looking out for each other and helping one another as a contributing member
of the society.

IV. Insights/ Realizations

I realized that we cannot keep things and situations such as a pandemic from
happening, but we should be held responsible on how we’re going to survive
and recover from it. Also, helping ourselves and each other out is way more
effective than sulking and asking ourselves why this is happening.
