Acoustix
In 1990, Rick Middaugh (lead) joined Todd Wilson (tenor), Jason January (baritone) and Jeff Oxley (bass) to form Acoustix. The quartet went on
to be crowned international quartet champion in the same year. Although young in years, the men are veteran quartet singerrs; in fact, Jeff Oxley
had previously earned a gold medal as bass of The Rapscallions, the 1984 international champion. Its travels have included hundreds
of SPEBSQSA and Sweet Adelines shows, cruises and performances in Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Since becoming champion, the quartet has been one of the Society's outstanding performers and ambassadors of barbershop harmony.
The quartet has made national appearances on NBC's "Today Show"; on "Keep America Singing", a PBS barbershop concert hosted by
Mitch Miller; and on the nationally syndicated "Jim Zippo" radio program.

The quartet's album releases include "The New Science of Sound" and "Stars and Stripes". The performances of "When It Comes To Loving The
Girls / They're All Sweeties" and "The Masquerade Is Over" may be heard on the 1990 International Convention recording "Top Twenty
Quartets - 1990". They are also recorded on the 1991, 1992 and 1993 albums "Association of International Champions".
Acoustix maintains an active role in the Association of International Champions appearing on AIC shows at SPEBSQSA international
conventions. In 1992, the quartet staged a special video/musical tribute to The Buffalo Bills, 1950 international champion.
