Let’s all Step Up e la didattica inclusiva

Gentile Genitore, Gentile Insegnante

Let’s all Step Up significa progredire passo dopo passo. Il titolo


e i contenuti di questo libro riflettono i valori della casa editrice,
impegnata a diffondere una cultura scolastica e didattica inclusiva,
per offrire a ciascun alunno la possibilità di individuare ed esprimere
al meglio il proprio potenziale. Tutti gli alunni hanno diritto a
un ambiente scolastico che riconosca le specificità di ciascuno
attraverso un’educazione adeguata ai propri bisogni e che stimoli,
motivi e gratifichi tutte le abilità.

La legge italiana tutela il diritto allo studio di tutti gli studenti a


partire dalla Costituzione. Una serie di provvedimenti legislativi
prevedono inoltre di orientare strategie e metodologie didattiche
al fine di valorizzare al massimo i punti di forza di ciascun alunno,
incoraggiarlo a collegare l’esperienza di apprendimento a quanto
già conosce nell’ottica dell’apprendimento per competenze.

La scuola di oggi deve affrontare la sfida di soddisfare le diverse


necessità degli alunni e offrire a tutti opportunità di apprendimento
personalizzato. Step Up e Let’s all Step Up rispondono a questa
sfida con percorsi di studio e risorse specificamente pensate
per un’ampia tipologia di esigenze nell’ottica di una didattica
veramente inclusiva.

La lingua straniera, e quindi l’inglese, offre stimoli e curiosità


nuovi agli studenti, ma anche ostacoli. Questo è dovuto al fatto
che, nel caso dell’inglese, fonetica e grafia non corrispondono e che
le regole grammaticali da apprendere sono numerose. È dunque
necessario mettere in atto strategie specifiche, prima fra tutte
quella di stabilire obiettivi chiari e personalizzare il percorso di
studio, anche usando materiale graduato come quello contenuto in
Let’s all Step Up.

Nelle pagine seguenti di questa introduzione viene illustrato il


materiale proposto e il modo in cui esso viene incontro alle esigenze
delle diverse necessità degli studenti, per consentire a tutti di
raggiungere i propri obiettivi.

Esercizio 1
In questo esercizio si è mantenuto il
focus linguistico dell’esercizio originale,
ma si è ridotto il numero di routine
quotidiane che gli studenti devono Esercizio 2
abbinare.
Questo esercizio è stato adattato dal
corrispondente esercizio nello Student’s
Book. In questo caso invece di parlare
delle routine quotidiane con un
compagno, gli studenti devono abbinare
il verbo corretto all’attività utilizzando
come supporto un elenco di parole da
cui scegliere.

Esercizio 1
In questo adattamento si è fornito un
elenco di parole per completare le frasi,
in modo da alleggerire il carico di lavoro Esercizio 2
richiesto agli studenti.
Questo esercizio sui pronomi soggetto
è stato adattato dallo Student’s Book:
invece di scrivere le parole mancanti per
completare le frasi, gli studenti abbinano
le frasi usando penne colorate. L’uso dei
colori aiuta a consolidare ulteriormente
l’apprendimento.

Esercizio 3
In questo esercizio sugli aggettivi
possessivi si sono fornite opzioni di
scelta per completare le frasi in modo
da alleggerire il carico di lavoro da Esercizio 4
svolgere.
Anche in questo esercizio gli studenti
hanno a disposizione due opzioni di
scelta per completare le frasi, piuttosto
che completarle con l’aggettivo
possessivo corretto senza alcun
supporto.
