To weld up cooperation with other institutions with similar objectives in and
outside Pakistan.
To organize orientation courses, symposia, seminars, workshops, conferences
and to undertake the exchange of scholars.
To develop a Resource Centre on da‘wah.
To publish monographs, reports, surveys, journals, booklets, books and such
other materials as may be related to the Academy’s objectives.
To establish regional centers for da‘wah work.

BACKGROUND
The Da‘wah Project
In compliance with the directive of the President of
Pakistan (No. 952 of 1981), the International Islamic
University, Islamabad had set up a Da‘wah Project
(1983-85). Later on in March 1985, through the
Ordinance No. XXX notified, In the Government of
Pakistan Gazette as Notification No. 1791)85-Pub
dated 31-3-1985, an Academy for Da‘wah and training
of Imams was established as an autonomous constituent
unit within the University.

The Cabinet in its special meeting held on 5 June
1985 at Islamabad decided to reorganize the Da‘wah
Project as Academy for Da‘wah and Training of
Imams. The Cabinet also approved the objectives and
functions of Da‘wah Academy which were also later on
approved by the Board of Trustees, the highest
authority of the University in its second meeting held
on July 16-17, 1987.

The Academy involved in producing books on various aspects of
Islamic Da’wah as well as in conducting research on
socio-cultural, economic, educational and religious phases of
society.
Academy produced Da’wah oriented literature at four levels
namely,
a) Basic Information about Islam;
b) Islamic Way of Life;
c) Islam and Other Systems; and
d) A Religious and Cultural History of Islam and the Muslims.
So far Academy Produce more than One thousand titles.
