Activity 1. Access the following link and find a news in which you notice a human right
being violated.
Paste the source (link) and then state your point of view about it.
https://colombiareports.com/

Source: https://colombiareports.com/colombias-cocaine-export-estimates-highest-in-
history-of-drug-trade/
Personal and critical opinion:

In this news we talk about drug trafficking, it is a violation of human rights since this type
of thing gives rise to corruption and insecurity, and even so, it seems that it is taken as
something normal, or at least it is usually very ignored, this allows this problem to just
keep growing.

The state must see for effective solutions to end this, unfortunately, drug trafficking is
closely linked to the country's system, so it is unlikely that something like this will happen
if we do not press for it to be so.
Activity 2. Have you seen people around you (in your family, neighborhood, city, country)
being
discriminated, excluded…? Try to identify some situations and follow the examples

while describing them:

- civilians are attacked by vandals
- people are homeless
- people are unemployed
- teenagers are excluded by their peers
- indigenous people are discriminated against or highly stereotyped
- authority is not respected
- drivers are mistreated
- workers are poorly paid
- the country is very divided
- people are affected by drug traffickers

Activity 3. Search for information about inequity in Colombia. Choose a field and describe its
causes. Then propose some alternatives to solve this issue:

Field: education
Cause: public education gives very bad results, the tests presented by students in this type
of education show it
Alternatives:
- if the funds invested in education were not diverted, there would be better public
education
- if teachers solved their problems, they would teach well
- if the way of teaching took each student into account better, they would learn better
Activity 4. Through two images (drawings, photos) show: 1. A social issue (inequity) 2. An ideal
world Then detail both situations (written or orally)

reality: ideal word:

The salaries for the jobs that people do in the people have a fairer salary, which
country is unfair, there are politicians who do serves to live according to how well
not do their jobs well and have exaggerated they exercise their profession
salaries in addition to sometimes having extra
unnecessary things
Activity 5. Listen to Imagine by John Lennon, and show agreement or disagreement in some (2 or
3) statements:

Statement Opinion
1.And no religion too I do not agree with this fragment of the
song, although I consider that religion can
be given for disputes, in reality all ideology
can be given for disputes, and we cannot
simply eliminate all ideologies (in which
religion is included) For this reason alone,
it would be firstly impossible and secondly
a somewhat reductionist and unrealistic
way of dealing with the problem of
divisions between people, it is best to let
religions exist and be respected, in fact
some of them even give very good
teachings for people's way of life
2. Imagine no possessions This fragment, at first, could sound good if
it is interpreted as a call not to be so
materialistic and to live in peace, but at
the same time, if you think a little more, in
the first place by the nature of the human
being it would be impossible, and
secondly, a "utopian" world in which we
are a collective of people with nothing of
our own who share everything, can
become a bit strange / disturbing
3. Imagine all the people This is a dream that many of us have and it
Living life in peace is really very beautiful, the desire for
happiness and peace in such a chaotic
world is something that is present in us,
and already imagining it is beautiful.
