ALOHA FESTIVALS

I would like to start by saying why these festivals are called this way. As many of you
think, the word aloha in Hawaiian means hello and goodbye, however it represents the
spirit of the islands, its people and what makes this place unique.

The aloha festivals are constituted by three main events , the royal court , ho'olaule'a
in Waikiki, and the Floral Parade. Approximately 30,000 people volunteer to plan,
organize, and provide labor for the Aloha Festivals each year. Their efforts entertain
over 1,000,000 people from throughout the state and visitors from all over the world.

The first event which takes part is the royal court . It starts the month of aloha
