1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Dart 0350-607-441/-443/-445/-447 Heli-Utility-Basket™ mounts to the landing gear on the AS

350/355 aircraft by means of the 0350-607-411 Quick Release Basket Mounting Kit. The 0350-607-
441/-443/-445/-447 Basket installs on either the LH or RH side of the aircraft and can be installed on
either low or high gear. It is also possible to install baskets on the LH and RH sides of the aircraft
simultaneously. The 0350-607-441/-443/-445/-447 Heli-Utility-Basket™ can be installed simultaneously
with Oart 0350-591 Steps and 0350-600 Spacepods. However, the 0350-607-441/-443/-445/-447 Heli-
Utility-Basket™can be installed with either the 0350-591 Steps or Eurocopter Squirrel Cheeks, but not
both. The height of the step must be set in accordance with Figure 1 to ensure compatibility.

1.1 0350-607-441 Heli-Utility-Baskets ™

The 0350-607-441 Heli-Utility-BasketTM is rectangular in shape, 96.00" in length and features a flat heavy
duty stainless steel lid designed to be a stepping surface (see Figure 2). This basket mounts on the
landing gear using the 0350-607-411 Quick Release Basket Mounting Kit (included). The 0350-607-441
Heli-Utility-BaskefTM at change 004 or earlier is capable of carrying a distributed cargo load of 210 Ibs (95
kgs) while the 0350-607-441 Heli-Utility-Basket ™ at change 005 or later is capable of carrying a
distributed cargo load of 310 Ibs (140 kgs). The 0350-607-431 Strut Retrofit Kit may be procured
separately from Oart for baskets at change 004 or earlier to increase the cargo carrying capacity as long
as the aircraft is equipped with high landing gear.
1.2 0350-607 -443 Heli-Utility-Baskets ™

The 0350-607-443 Heli-Utility-BasketTM is rectangular in shape, 96.00" in length and features a flat light
weight aluminum lid covered with a "cargo net" type material. This basket is 10 Ibs (4.5 kgs) lighter than
the 0350-607-441 Basket. However, the lid cannot be used as a stepping surface (see Figure 2). This
basket mounts on the landing gear using the 0350-607-411 Quick Release Basket Mounting Kit
(included). The 0350-607-443 Heli-Utility-BaskefTM at change 004 or earlier is capable of carrying a
distributed cargo load of 220 Ibs (100 kgs) while the 0350-607-443 Heli-Utifity-BaskefTMat change 005 or
later is capable of carrying a distributed cargo load of 320 Ibs (145 kgs). The 0350-607-431 Strut Retrofit
Kit may be procured separately from Oart for baskets at change 004 or earlier to increase the cargo
carrying capacity as long as the aircraft is equipped with high landing gear.
1.3 0350-607 -445 Heli-Utility-Baskets ™

The 0350-607-445 Heli-Utility-BasketTM is rectangular in shape, 56.75" in length and features a flat heavy
duty stainless steel lid designed to be a stepping surface (see Figure 3). This basket mounts on the
landing gear using the 0350-607-411 Quick Release Basket Mounting Kit (included). The 0350-607-445
Heli-Utility-BaskefTMat change 004 or earlier is capable of carrying a distributed cargo load of 232 Ibs
(105 kgs) while the 0350-607-445 Heli-Utifity-BaskefTMat change 005 or later is capable of carrying a
distributed cargo load of 3321bs (151 kgs). The 0350-607-431 Strut Retrofit Kit may be procured

The 0350-607-447 Heli-Utility-Basket ™ is rectangular in shape, 56.75" in length and features a flat light
weight aluminum lid covered with a "cargo net" type material. This basket is 11 Ibs (5.0 kgs) lighter than
the 0350-607-445 basket. However, the lid cannot be used as a stepping surface (see Figure 3). This
basket mounts on the landing gear using the 0350-607-411 Quick Release Basket Mounting Kit
(included). The 0350-607-447 Heli-Utifity-Basket™at change 004 or earlier is capable of carrying a
distributed cargo load of 243 Ibs (110 kgs) while the 0350-607-447 Heli-Utility-BaskefTM at change 005 or
later is capable of carrying 332 Ibs (151 kgs). The 0350-607-431 Strut Retrofit Kit may be procured
For operations requiring quick transfer of 0350-607-441/-443/-445/-447 Heli-Utility-BaskefTM from one

side to the other on the same aircraft or from one aircraft to another, extra 0350-607-411 Quick Release
Basket Mounting Kits can be procured separately to equip both sides of an aircraft simultaneously or
multiple aircrafts.

not equipped with the 0350-670-431 Strut Retrofit Kit. Installation of the 0350-607-431 Strut
Retrofit Kit increases the cargo carrying capacity of the 0350-607-44X Heli-Utility-Baskets™ as
per Table 1 that follows as long as the aircraft is equipped with high landing gear.

Compatibility of this installation with the aircraft is the responsibility of the installer. Ensure that this
installation does not conflict with a previous modification.
CONTINUING AIRWORTHINESS
This installation should be maintained in accordance with the Instructions for Continued Airworthiness
ICA-D350-607.
WORKMANSHIP
Unless otherwise stated, all workmanship should be to the standard set by the Aircraft Maintenance
Manual as well as standard practices outlined in AC43.13-1 B & 2A .

3.0 INSTALLATION PROCEDURES

NOTE: For aircraft equipped with high gear, the Dart Heli-Utility-Basket™ is compatible with Oart 0350-
591 high-gear steps. The 0350-591 steps must be installed as shown in Figure 1 to ensure that the
cargo doors will open with the basket installed. For aircraft equipped with low gear, the Dart Heli-Utility-
Basket™ is not compatible with Oart 0350-591 low gear steps; any Oart low gear step will have to be
removed before basket installation.
3.1 PREPARATION OF D350-607-441/-443/-445/-447 HELI-UTILITY-BASKET™ & 0350-607-411

QUICK RELEASE BASKET MOUNTING KIT
NOTE: If a 0350-607-54X Basket is being converted to a 0350-607-44X configuration using the
0350-607-401 Conversion Kit all hardware should be removed prior to completing these
instructions.
3.1.1 Oetermine on which side of the aircraft the basket will be installed.
3.1.2 Install the 03912-041 Eyebolt Receiver Assy at the forward end of the basket base per Figure 4
using provided hardware and ensure nuts face aft. Torque all nuts to 50-70 in-Ibs (5.7-7.9 N-m).
3.1.3 Install the 03911-041 Basket Instl Stud Assy and 03911-043 Aft Eyebolt Receiver Assy at the aft
end of the basket base per Figure 5 using provided hardware and ensure nuts face fwd. Torque
all nuts to 50-70 in-Ibs (5.7-7.9 N-m).
3.1.4 Install 03908-041 Aft X-tube Lug Assy onto the basket base. Refer to Figure 5. Secure with
MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin.
3.1.5 Install 03909-041 Fwd X-tube Lug Assy onto basket base. Ensure the 03810-1 Spring Plunger is
fully engaged. A "click" should be heard as the 03810-1 Spring Plunger locks into place. Refer
to Figure 4. Secure bottom of 03909-041 Fwd X-tube Lug Assy to the basket base as follows:
3.1.5.1 Oisengage MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin.
3.1.5.2 Flip 03909-3 Fwd Lower Attachment Arm so the fork holes align with the one in the
basket rib.
3.1.5.3 Lock in place with MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin.
3.1.6 Install 04086-X or 04917 -X Placard as applicable in accordance with Table 2 and at the location
shown in Figure 4.

3.1.7 To convert a basket ready for LH installation into a RH installation, or vice versa, remove the
following parts from the basket base: 03908-041 Aft X-tube Lug Assy, 03909-041 Fwd X-tube
Lug Assy, 03911-041 Basket Instl Stud Assy, 03911-043 Aft Eyebolt Receiver Assy, and 03912-
041 Eyebolt Receiver Assy. Retain parts and hardware. Reinstall all the parts by following Steps
3.1.1 through 3.1.5.

QUICK RELEASE BASKET MOUNTING KIT
NOTE: The following installation instructions assume that the 0350-607-44X Heli-Utility Basket™
has been prepared for installation per Section 3.1.
3.2.1 Per Figure 1, prop the basket at the appropriate height and present to the aircraft crosstubes.
3.2.2 Attach the basket with the 03910-3 and/or 03910-5 X-Tube Lugs, 03984-030 Rubber Cushions
and AN4 hardware as shown in Figures 4 and 5. Leave bolts loose to allow for adjustment.
3.2.3 For 0350-607-44X Baskets at change 005 or later, install (qty 2) 04776-3 Skidtube Clevis onto
the crosstube saddles in accordance with Figure 7. Note that the installation differs for installation
on OEM or Oart crosstube saddles, refer to Figure 7. Torque fasteners on Dart saddles to 50-
70 in-Ibs (5.6 -7.9 N-m). Torque fasteners on OEM saddles per applicable aircraft
maintenance manual.
3.2.4 For 0350-607-44X Baskets at change 005 or later, adjust the rod end bearing in the 04775-
041 Strut Assemblies to the appropriate length. Install (qty 2) 04775-041 Strut Assemblies and
hardware as shown in Figure 7. Check the witness holes located at the bottom end of the 04775-
041 Strut Assemblies to ensure that the thread from the rod end extends past the witness hole.
Torque MS21042l4/-4 nuts to 50-70 in-Ibs (5.7-7.9 N-m). Torque MS21042l6/-6 nuts to 160-
190 in-Ibs (18.1-21.5 N-m).
3.2.5 Tighten hardware once height (see Figure 1) is verified and MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pins
slide out and in without difficulty. Torque MS21042l4/-4 nuts to 50-70 in-Ibs (5.7-7.9 N-m).
Torque MS21042l6/-6 nuts to 160-190 in-Ibs (18.1-21.5 N-m).
3.2.6 Update the aircraft log book to indicate installation of the 0350-607-4XX kit and adjust weight and
balance record for the aircraft with the weight and balance data provided in section 4.0 of this
document.
3.3 BASKET REMOVAL SEQUENCE

Follow the sequence below whenever removing any 0350-607-441/-443/-445/-447 Baskets from
0350-607 -411 Quick Release Basket Mounting Kit installed on the aircraft. Refer to Figures 4
and 5.
3.3.1 On 03909-041 Fwd X-Tube Lug Assy, disengage MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin. Flip
03909-3 Fwd Lower Attach Arm upwards. Align inboard hole in arm with those on 03909-041
Fwd X-Tube Lug Assy. Lock into place with MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin.
3.3.2 At the aft end of the basket, disengage MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin. Lift and rotate the
basket slightly outboard while lowering it to the ground. Ensure the basket base clears the 0350-
591 Long Steps if any are installed. Secure MS 17984-C413 Quick Release Pin back into the
Stud of 03908-041 Aft X-tube Lug Assy.
3.3.3 At the forward end of the basket, disengage 03810-1 Spring Plunger by pulling horizontally on
04028-041 Spring Lanyard Assy and lift the basket. Do not lift basket using 03810-1 Spring
Plunger as a handle or lever. Lower basket to the ground once clear from the aircraft .

3.4 BASKET INSTALLATION SEQUENCE

Follow the sequence below whenever mounting any 0350-607-441/-443/-445/-447 Baskets onto
0350-607 -411 Quick Release Basket Mounting Kit installed on the aircraft. Refer to Figures 4
and 5.
3.4.1 On 03909-041 Fwd X-Tube Lug Assy, ensure 03909-3 Fwd Lower Attach Arm is locked with
MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin in upright position.
3.4.2 At the forward end of the basket, ensure 04028-041 Lanyard Assembly and 03810-1 Spring
Plunger are facing fwd. Properly align and engage 03912-041 Eyebolt Receiver Assy onto
03909-041 Fwd X-Tube Lug Assy. Allow the basket to slide onto 03912-041 to a complete stop.
A "click" should be heard as the 03810-1 Spring Plunger locks into place. Test that it has
engaged by lifting up.
3.4.3 Oisengagelremove MS 17984-C413 Quick Release Pin from 03908-041 Aft X-tube Lug Assy. Lift
the aft end of the basket and properly align 03911-043 Aft Eyebolt Receiver Assy and 03911-041
Basket Instl Stud Assy onto 03908-041 Aft X-Tube Assy. Allow the basket to slide onto 03908-
041 to a complete stop. Secure in place using MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin.
3.4.4 At the forward end of the basket, disengage the MS 17984-C413 Quick Release Pin. Flip the
03909-3 Fwd Lower Attach Arm so the fork holes align with the one in the basket rib. Lock into
place using the same MS17984-C413 Quick Release Pin (may need to lift basket to achieve hole
alignment).

3.5 INSTALLATION OF 0350.607-413/-415/-417/.419 CONVERSION KITS

To replace a basket lid with a heavy duty lid or a lightweight lid using the 0350-607-413/-415/-417/-419
Kits, use the following procedure:
3.5.1 If desired, remove the basket from the aircraft per Section 3.3.
3.5.2 Open lid for ease of removal of 03969-3 Gas Spring while fully extended.
3.5.3 Remove MS24665-300 Cotter Pin and detach end of 03969-3 Gas Spring mounted to the
existing lid by unfastening AN310C4 Castellated Nuts. Retain 03953-3 Gas Spring Stud and
03953-7 Gas Spring Spacer and 03953-9 Gas Spring Washer. Refer to Figures 2, 3 and 6 as
applicable.
3.5.4 Remove lid by removing qty (3) MS24665-151 Cotter Pins and unfastening qty (3) each AN31 0-4
Castellated Nuts, AN4-12 Bolts and washers.
3.5.5 Install 03914-041 or 03915-041 or 04018-041 or 04019-041 as applicable using qty (3) each
AN310-4 Castellated Nuts and AN4-12 Bolts and qty (6) NAS1149F0432P Washers per Figure 6.
Secure Castellated Nut with MS24665-151 Cotter Pins per MS33540 or AC43.13 Chapter 7.127
3.5.6 Attach loose end of 03969-3 Gas Spring to new lid using 03953-3 Gas Spring Stud and 03953-7
Gas Spring Spacer (removed at Step 3.5.3), 03953-7 Gas Spring Washer, NAS1149C0432R
Washer and AN310C4 Castellated Nuts per Figures 2,3 and 6 as applicable. Secure Castellated
Nut with MS24665-300 Cotter Pin per MS33540 or AC43.13 Chapter 7.127.
3.5.7 Install 04086-X or 04917-X Placard, Max load as applicable in accordance with Table 2 (see
Section 3.1.6) and at the location shown in Figure 4.
3.5.8 If basket was removed from aircraft, re-install per section 3.4
3.5.9 Update the aircraft log book to indicate installation of the converted 0350-607-4XX kit and adjust
weight and balance record for the aircraft with the weight and balance data provided in Section
4.0 of this document.

3.6 INSTALLATION OF 0350-607-431 STRUT RETROFIT KIT
IMPORTANT: Installation of the 0350-607-431 Strut Retrofit Kit on aircraft equipped with Dart
saddles requires that hardware shown in Figure 7 fastening the crosstubes to the Dart saddles be
reversed in order to prevent interference with the 04775-041 Strut Assembly. This must be done
prior to the installation of the 0350-607-431 Strut Retrofit Kit (See Figure 7). To use the 0350-
607-431 Strut Retrofit Kit, the aircraft must be equipped with high gear.
3.6.1 Remove the lower (qty 2) 03910-3 X-Tube Lugs and replace with (qty 2) 03910-5 X-Tube Lugs
as shown in Figure 7.
NOTE: It is acceptable to reuse the existing hardware as well as the 03984-080 Rubber
Extrusion, however, they should be inspected for suitability for continued service. Replace if
necessary.
3.6.2 Install (qty 2) 04776-3 Skidtube Clevis on the inboard side of each skidtube saddle in
accordance with Figure 7. Note that the installation differs for installation on OEM or Dart
skidtube saddles, refer to Figure 7. Torque fasteners on Dart Skidtubes to 50-70 in.lbs
(5.6 - 7.9 N-m). Torque fasteners on OEM skidtubes per applicable aircraft
maintenance manual.
3.6.3 Install (qty 2) 04775-041 Strut Assemblies as shown in Figure 7. Adjust the rod end to
achieve the proper installation length. Check the witness holes located at the bottom end of
the 04775-041 Strut Assemblies to ensure that the thread from the rod end extends past the
witness hole. Torque fasteners to 160-190 in-Ibs (18.1 -21.5 N-m).
3.6.4 Remove the existing 04086-X Placard and replace with 04917-X Placard as per Table 3
below.
