GS - RS - Lite CENTUM VP Integration Package
GS - RS - Lite CENTUM VP Integration Package
GENERAL
The RS4E5600 CENTUM VP Integration Package runs on a safety engineering station (SENG) to archieve system
integration on the ProSafe-RS or ProSafe-RS Lite with the CENTUM VP. (*1) This software is available for ProSafe-
RS and ProSafe-RS Lite (*2).
*1: In an RS Project, this package cannot be used together with “CI Server Integration Package” (RS4E5700).
*2: For ProSafe-RS Lite, it has been supported since ProSafe-RS R4.06.
FUNCTION OVERVIEW
With this software, in the ProSafe-RS/ProSafe-RS Lite and the CENTUM VP integrated system, access can be made
from a human interface station (HIS) or a field control station (FCS) to a safety control station (SCS) to perform the
following:
• SCS data can be operated and monitored from the HIS. (*1)
• SCS data can be accessed from the FCS.
• Process Alarms, Annunciator Alarms and System Alarms by the SCS can be managed on the HIS.
• The HIS can show the SCS’s status.
With this software, users can configure a system that integrates ProSafe-RS/ProSafe-RS Lite and the CENTUM VP,
as illustrated below.

*1: None of SCS I/Os needs to add to the number of I/Os of “VP6H1100 basic operation and monitoring function.”
*2: If the SENG and HIS/ENG are installed in the same computer, refer to the GS “ProSafe-RS Safety Instrumented System
Overvew (for Vnet/IP)” (GS 32P01B10-01EN) or “ProSafe-RS Lite Safety Instrumented System Overview” (GS 32P51B10-
01EN).
Function Description
Tag name definition Using tag name builder, tag names are assigned to SCS's variable and function blocks. The
data of SCS can be accessed from FCS of CENTUM VP, operated and monitored with a
screen same as FCS from HIS.
Alarm priority definition Using the Alarm Priority builder, output format and action of process alarm are defined in the
HIS viewer when the alarm occurs or it is recovered normally.
Alarm processing definition The alarm processing table is a list that set importance of the alarm of SCS. User import the
alarm processing table which user defined in CENTUM VP in alarm processing table builder.
Annunciator message definition Using the Tag Name builder, the content of annunciator messages to be shown on the HIS on
an SCS-by-SCS basis is defined.
Common definitions for integration with In the Properties window of an SCS project, SCS parameters necessary for integration with
the CENTUM VP (*1) the CENTUM VP are defined.
*1: The SCS parameters must be defined on the CENTUM VP side separately and it’s necessary to start tag list generation
function.
