Department of Tourism Department of Tourism is the

primary planning, programming,
coordinating, implementing, and
regulatory government agency in
the development and promotion of
the tourism industry in both
domestic and international in
coordination with other agencies
and other government
instrumentalities.

I learned that the Department of Tourism (DOT) is the main government

agency that deals with formulation of plans and programs
to promote, develop and regulate the country’s tourism
industry and spread the benefits and showcase
the beauty of our homeland
Philippines to foreigners.
What confuses me is that how
Department of Tourism promote our country
Philippines since some other beautiful places are not
being showcased and the main focus of their
promotion is Palawan, Boracay and the Chocolate
Hills in Bohol.

Based on the mission and vision of the local tourism organizations, my own goal for
the development of tourism in the Philippines is to have programs for securities of
every travelers that is visiting the country such as police, advance security equipments,
and advisories. Also, strengthen the coordination of other agencies and other
government instrumentalities to provide and formulate a plan or program to promote
the country, sustain and regulate the cleanliness of the environment, and protect the
biodiversity of the country.
