Tim Berners-Lee - created the World Wide Web.
Steve Jobs - created the first effective personal computer called the Apple 1
The Apple 1 was a huge advancement in computer sciences and it carved the path for
the computers we have now. Apple has created iPhone, iPod, iPad, iMac, and Apple
TV.
Bill Gates - He founded Microsoft, which creates almost everything that has to do with
computers. Microsoft develops programs like Microsoft Office, Windows, and many
other influential products.
2. Aside from communication what other aspects of society are being influenced
in the information age?
EVERYTHING. Education, investing, home ownership, entrepreneurship, marketing,
gardening, healthcare, adopting kids, geopolitics, international relations, ethics, law….
This is a huge driver in terms of job creation opportunities, new business avenues within
the core business, and further marketing and sales opportunities that shall impact the
top line of businesses substantially.
Self-driving cars - Self-driving cars have received a major boost owing to
multiple positives that it arrives with. With machines taking over, a seamless
ecosystem of such cars can emerge that can result in fewer accidents, quicker transit
times, and lower human fatigue which further impacts business productivity positively.
There is also the advertising opportunity where humans not involved in concentrating
on the driving aspect can concentrate on the advertising boards.
New sources of energy - With the impending global warming worries and the
hunt for alternative and renewable sources of energy, the future technology timeline is
expected to include improved efficiency of solar power generation, geothermal energy
harnessing, and decreasing thermal power plants.
This allows for new business opportunities across the globe.
Drone ecosystem - Drones are slowly taking over with them being put to use for
surveillance and mapping purposes. Military applications of drones are also being
highly sought after.
And now companies like Amazon and Jubilant Foodworks are employing drones for
the delivery of good and pizzas respectively.
This is quite an insight into the future as drones might form the basic ecosystem of
the entire logistics industry by 2050.
Virtual Reality - VR-AR is currently being explored in a lot of fields. But from an
absolute business point of view, some avenues to be explored can include academics,
employee/customer onboarding, training, tourism such as; adventure sports, and for
overall immersive entertainment. We can definitely see a lot of these applications by
2050.
Medical advancement with AI and nanobots - Nanobots are being extensively
researched to detect and cure diseases, which includes direct drug delivery. Some
more future technology ideas 2050 include capturing human memories and emotions
to create a forever surviving AI-based artificial body as a natural human. New drug
development can also push the human lifespan, while artificial organs can help end the
dependency on donors.
