SUBJECT: EVAPORATION CONTROL KIT P/N 65-01620-00 – Installation Procedure –

TECHNICAL MOTIVATION:
Introduction of:
- new Sample Cover Panel with slots instead of the holes for the probe descent;
- small plate which separates the Power Supply Assy compartment from the remaining internal space
of the chassis.
The improvements obtained are: minimization of the samples evaporation, reduction of condensate in the
reagent compartment, increased stability of the reagents on board.
The evaporation control kit P/N 65-01620-00 can be ordered to Assel S.r.l., its list price is 60,00 Euro.

The evaporation control kit P/N 65-01620-00 is composed by:
• Separation Plate P/N 01-01619-00
• Sample Cover Panel Assy + 2 Screws, P/N 65-01631-00
2 Spring Washers, 2 Plain Washer
Separation Plate Installation Procedure
⇒ Disconnect the power supply cable from the instrument;
Note: For an easier accessibility is possible (but not necessary to complete the procedure) to extract
the Power Supply Assy by unloosening the 4 screws as indicated in Photo 1.

⇒ Remove the screws of the PWS Tap and extract it from the instrument (see Photo 2).

⇒ Open the ISE module door. For instruments with the ISE module installed on, unhook it and
completely clear the access to the internal compartment. If the ISE module is not installed, remove
the closing panel by unloosening the screws as indicated in Photo 3;

⇒ Insert the separation plate P/N 01-01619-00 by inclining it as indicated in Photo 4 (see following
page);

⇒ Place the lower edge of the plate beyond the corner indicated in Photo 5. Pass the Power supply
cable in the dedicated slot, then rotate the plate until it reaches the vertical position;

⇒ Place the separation plate in order to have the bushes for fixing it in line with the holes where the
screws must be inserted (see Photo 6);

⇒ Insert in the holes the screws included in the kit;

Note: both washers must be placed on the external side (screw head side) in the following sequence:
screw head – spring washer – plain washer.
⇒ Reinstall the Power Supply Assembly (if previously extracted) and the PWS Tap;
⇒ Reinstall the ISE module closing panel or, if the ISE module is present, place it on side again.

Sample cover replacement procedure

The Sample Cover Panel Assy P/N 65-01631-00 contains all the material needed to replace the cover
panel with holes with the new one with slots.
⇒ Remove the lateral and back side frames from the existing Cover in order to use them with the new
panel.
⇒ Remove the rivets by pushing them out with a screwdriver - Photo 8

Note: In case this operation becomes difficult, simply cut the rivets with a nippers - Photo 9

⇒ Completely push the rivets in their side. If needed help yourself with a light hammer – Photo 12
