POSITION: General Manager, Lyric Theatre

LOCATION: New York, NY


HOURS: Full-Time, Ability to work evenings and attend major events.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience

ABOUT THE POSITION


• Reports to the Chief Executive Officer of ATG North America.
• The General Manager is responsible for leading and inspiring a diverse team, ensuring
the venue operates to the highest possible standards, maximizing its potential as ATG’s
flagship destination on Broadway for both producers and customers alike.
• Oversees all areas of the theatre by working closely and collaboratively with venue
operations, ticketing, programming, and producing, food and beverage, finance,
human resources, marketing & communications, legal, business development, and IT
departments.

PEOPLE, PLACES, and THINGS


• Ambassador Theatre Group (North America) is looking for a passionate and
entrepreneurial professional to lead ATG’s Lyric Theatre (Seating capacity: 1,622) on
Broadway.
• Directly supervises the Deputy General Manager and Facilities Manager.
• Articulate the vision and strategy of ATG/Lyric Theatre to engage and inspire teams,
stakeholders, producers, communities, and customers.
• Proficiency in standard MS business software platforms, Facebook, Twitter, and other
social media.

EXPERIENCE and SKILLS


• The applicant should have at least three years senior management experience in
performing arts facility management with increasing levels of responsibility.
• A Bachelor's degree is required and advanced degree in arts management or business
management is preferred.
• Maintain human resource functions with the support of central HR team, including but
not limited to; recruitment and training, employee appraisals, managing poor
performance and discipline, weekly payroll, addressing complaints and resolving
personnel issues.
• Be responsible of the venue’s financial performances and develop annual business plan.
• Manage venue’s operating budget, perform forecasts and create business cases for
capital improvement project applications
• Optimize the venue and its workforce to maximum efficiency across all areas of the
business
• Oversee maintenance and repair of the theatre and manage any capital
improvements projects.
• Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the theatre’s relationship with theatrical unions, including Local 1, Local 306,
Local 751 and ATPAM; participate in collective bargaining negotiations.
• Manage relationship with New 42, the theatre’s landlord, alongside the CEO.
• Manage other contractual relationships, including sponsors, vendors, and contractors.
• Is committed to upholding ATG’s core values and standards of operation, providing first-
class customer service, and delivering professional venue management at all levels.

Sensitivity: Internal Use


• Maintain positive working relationships with theatrical producers, agents, advertising
agencies, press representatives, and other professionals from the theatrical community.
• Enforce safety and security protocols and ensure compliance with operational
standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
