SYNOPSIS: In the 25th century, advances in technology have redefined life itself. A person's
consciousness can now be stored in a cortical stack and downloaded into a new body (or "sleeve"),
making death obsolete. Takeshi Kovacs, former revolutionary, criminal, mercenary and the last of the
legendary interstellar warriors known as the Envoys, has been killed before, but this last death was
particularly painful. Now, 500 years later, he has been resleeved into a body in San Francisco and thrown
into a deadly, far-reaching noir conspiracy. A fish out of water in a place and time he doesn't know,
Kovacs needs to solve a murder and reclaim his life, or go back into the eternal darkness of storage...
