Pipe Ways Loading Calculation PEC-BMS-EN-VSS-L-4795 Rev. A

1.0    PURPOSE
The purpose of this spread sheet is to provide user a easy and time effective tool for pipe
ways vertical load calculation.

2.0 SCOPE
This spread sheet describes the procedure to be followed while calculating pipe vertical load.
However this spread sheet is not mean for finding pipe longitudinal &/or lateral loads.

3.0 DESCRIPTION
1. This spread sheet is used for calculating piping vertical load only.
2. The user shall fill data in the cells highlighted yellow only.
3. When piping vertical load is to be calculated for a specific cross section pertaining
to specific pipe rack module (e.g. PR1-M1), copy only "2. Calculation sheet" to the
appropriate folder of the pipe rack load calculation. Rename the Excel file as
"Pipe Rack Loading Calculation (PRX-YY)". E.G. for performing pipe rack loading
calculation for Pipe Rack-1, Module 1 to 5, Pipe Rack Loading Calculation Excel file
needs to be rename as "Pipe Rack Loading Calculation (PR1-M1 to M5). The Tab of
copied sheet "2. Calculation Sheet" needs to be renamed as "Calculation sheet (PR1-M1 to
M5)". Similar Excel file with appropriate name needs to be created for pipe ways other
than Pipe Rack.
4. Copy sheet "3. Pipe_Thk" to the Excel file created as above and rename the sheet Tab
as "Pipe_Thk".
5. Excel sheets created as per Note 3, 4 need to be kept as back-up for devloping pipe
rack loading data to Civil. This need not to be submitted as part of input to Civil.
