Summative Test on MC 1 (Teaching Math in the Primary Grades) for Finals

January 6-15, 2021

Do the following task:

1. Select one of the detailed lesson plans you have made from Unit 4 – 8. Encode it in MS Word and save as
using the filename format: “Surname_DLPMathGradeLevel”, for example, Dela Cruz_DLPMath2 and send it
through email to sirfrankie2014@gmail.com on or before January 11, 2021.

2. Gather and make the instructional materials, assessment tools and other materials needed for the conduct
of demonstration teaching.

3. Conduct a 20- to 30-minute demonstration teaching of the selected lesson. Record your demonstration
teaching through a video. No pupils will be invited to attend your demonstration teaching but instead you
will be only assuming that you are in front of the class. You may use your preferred names of your pupils
during class recitation/discussion. Wear your college uniform in the conduct of demonstration teaching.
Pointers to be considered in the conduct of demonstration teaching:
a. The student teacher should have a well-modulated voice and enough to be heard by the class.
b. The student teacher should show enthusiasm and confidence in the delivery of the lesson. Always wear
a smile.
c. The student teacher should show mastery of the subject matter. Reading lesson plan or textbooks in
front of the class is not allowed. You may use cue cards to guide you on the flow of the lesson but as
much as possible it is better not to use.
d. The student teacher should start with a prayer and end with the assignment to be given.
e. The student teacher should use instructional materials with colorful pictures/illustrations and readable
texts. Be careful with the spelling and grammar on the visual aids to be posted. Give examples that are
simple, clear and within their context.
f. The student teacher should be well articulated and use Bicol/Tagalog/English as the medium of
instruction fluently and consistently. Give simple and clear directions, free from grammatical errors.
For Grades 1-3 Math, the use of Bicol as medium of instruction is necessary although other
mathematical terms don’t have an equivalent Bicol terms. With that, you may use it as is provided that
it should be well defined or explained to your learners.
g. The student teacher may refer to Youtube and other websites/online resources for sample videos of
demonstration teaching in Mathematics.
4. Save your recorded and edited video in a flashdrive to be used for the whole class with the filename format:
“Surname_DTMathGradeLevel”, for example, Dela Cruz_DTMath2 on or before January 15, 2021.
