Refractory paints for thermal industry moulds - CALDE™ SEAL
GENERAL
CALDE™ SEAL are refractory primers to be used on all metalic surfaces (anchors, boiler tubes, incinerator,
furnaces internal shells ..) to mit the corrosion problems to metal. CALDE™ SEAL are delivered as of powders
mixes; they should be mixed with water onsite.
STORAGE AND PREPARATION
CALDERYS CALDE™ SEAL are resistant primers that can be available as chemically bonded or with a hydraulic
binder. They can be stored for 6 months without problems if they remain in ther original packaging in a perfectly
dry place. The preparation of these products does not require any specific operation and can be used as such,
‘without any prior mixing of the cry mixes..
PREPARATION OF ADJACENT SURFACES
“The metal surfaces to be coated must be previously leaned and sanded (or blasted). Any trace of any residues
should be removed before application of pains. This cleaning is necessary to obtain good adhesion between the
paint and the metalic support.
PLACEMENT
‘The CALDE™ SEAL must be mixed on site using a handheld blender (paint mixer) or 2 mixer for 5 to 10 minutes
‘with Clean water to obtain a homogeneous mixture. Once prepared, the paint can be applied either with a brush,
roller or spray gun,
‘After 30 minutes to 1 hour (once the first coat dry), apply @ second layer to obtain 2 layer thickness of 1 to 2mm,
Cover a 1m? surface requires approximately 2 kg of CALDE SEAL
DRYING AND HEATING UP.
Drying can be done either by drying in the open air or by forced convection via a supplementary heating,
{A refractory lining (gunned or cast) may then be performed once the second coating layer was applied (drying
time ~ th to 2h.
‘A mixing time suitable to obtain @ homogeneous paint, meaning that all components are ci
‘optimum performance. A minimum time of 5 minutes is required,
Moreover, to ensure optimal properties, its important to ensure that all surfaces are coated by the product.
‘SAFETY
Protection measures indicated in our MSDS should be observed.

| PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
> Our CALDE® SEAL (Steel Encapsulation and Alkali-resistant Layer) product range comprises few
different products based on the type of bond. CALDE" SEAL H (chemical bond) and CALDE® SEAL L
(cement bond) are coatings thet protect metallic parts lining against corrosion and alkali attack
> CALDE® SEAL H products are better suited for spray gun or brush application and in cases where @
refractory will be applied afterwards.
> You can use CALDE® SEAL L for areas where no refractory lining will be applied afterwards and the
covered surfaces will remain naked,
Patented Technology
Calderys has patented the technology that forms an impervious and glassy coating at quite low temperature
(starting ~ 250"). The coating acts as a barrier and allows NO or VERY LOW penetration of aggressive gases
and liquids leading to increased lifetime of the tubes.
MAJOR BENEFITS.
> Decreased downtime:
CALDE® SEAL protects the metallic parts
against corrosion which increases the lifetime
of your parts and decreases the need for
replacement and thus the downtime of the
equipment
> Less refractory maintenance:
Using our product also leads to a decline of
refractory lining failures due to anchors
degradation.
> Savings:
‘We have developed CALDE® SEAL to provide to
you economic benefits through increased =
performance and decreased downtime of your
equipment.
