How to update firmware for a Lenel access panel

Procedure Steps
Complete the following steps to replace firmware files and update the firmware for all currently supported Lenel access panels:

1) Obtain the correct revision of the firmware for the access panel and version of OnGuard in use. For the latest firmware revisions,
navigate to the following location:
https://customer.lenel.com/?q=support/lenel-firmware

For versions specific to your version of OnGuard, contact Technical Support for further assistance.

2) On each computer running the Communication Server service, rename the existing firmware file (with .bin extension) to have a
.bin.bak extension in the OnGuard installation folder (typically C:\Program Files\OnGuard).

The firmware files for each supported Lenel access panel include:

LNL-500: lnl500.bin, lnl500_aes.bin

LNL-1000: scpfirm.bin, scpfirm_aes.bin
LNL-2000: lnl2000.bin, lnl2000_aes.bin
LNL-2220: lnl2220.bin
LNL-3300: lnl3300.bin

3) On each computer running the Communication Server service, copy the updated firmware file (with .bin extension) to the OnGuard
installation folder.

4) In the System Status Tree in Alarm Monitoring, right-click the access panel, then select Download Firmware to apply the new
firmware to the access panel.

Applies To
OnGuard (All versions)

Additional Information
The firmware update may take several minutes to complete. It is recommended to perform the update during a period of little or no
system usage.

Lenel recommends updating no more than a few access panels at a time to minimize Communication Server processing and maintain
system stability.
