Lab#13

Cừk Converter
Objective
To understand and design the working principle of Cừk Converter

At K= 50%

At K= 20%
At K=80%

Observations
# Duty Cycle (%) Output Voltage/Value of Vmean (Volts)
Practically Theoretically
1 O 0 0
2 50 10.0 10
3 20 2.42 2.5
4 80 39.3 40

From the above table we can say that, in cuk converter

 At K=0.5, output voltage is equal to the input voltage.
 At K=0.80, output voltage is greater than the input voltage which can act as a buck
converter.
 At K=0.20, output voltage is less than the input voltage which can act as a boost
converter.

Calculations
Formula:
 When K=0 % , Output voltage will be
Vo = -Vs (K/1-K)
Vo = -10(0/1-0)
Vo = 0
 When K=50% , Output voltage will be
Vo = -Vs (K/1-K)
Vo = -10(0.5/1-0.5)
Vo = -10 volts.
 When K=20 % , Output voltage will be
Vo = -Vs (K/1-K)
Vo = -10(0.2/1-0.2)
Vo = -2.5 volts.
 When K=80, Output voltage will be
Vo = -Vs (K/1-K)
Vo = -10(0.8/1-0.8)
Vo = -40 volts.
(Output is inverse that is why output voltage is with –ve sign)
