a. Individual Assignment (20%) - Hazard Identification Risk Assessment & Risk


Control (HIRARC)
1. Student must identify any working activities/ situations in the workplace.
2. From the above working situations, the student must be able to identify:
i. Hazards elements for each working situation
ii. Risk assessments
iii. Risk controls to minimize hazard/accident in each step.
Format:
• Using the HIRARC form provided by the lecturer.
• Report: Minimum five (5) pages, excluding appendix.
• Using Arial 11, 1.15 spacing, PDF file
• The front-page report must clearly state the student’s name, student
number, and group.

b. Group Assignment 1 – Interview with Competent Person (20%)


The group (4-5 students per group) will identify and interview one (1) competent person as
listed on DOSH website
https://www.dosh.gov.my/index.php/certification/information/competent-person-info
Format:
1. Video Presentation (3-5 minutes).
2. Contents:
• Profile of competent person (including education background, years of
experience in OSH, company background)
• Experience in the industry
• Challenges as a competent person
3. Report: Minimum 2 pages. Using Arial 11, 1.15 spacing in pdf

c. Group Assignment - Case Study (20%)


The group (4 students per group) should identify one industry in Malaysia (as listed in OSHA
1994). Discuss and elaborate on OSH issues related to the industry.
The discussion must be supported with any relevant data, statistic, article, graph, and
references.
Format:
1. Report: Minimum five (5) pages, excluding appendix. Using Arial 11, 1.15
spacing, PDF file. The front-page report must clearly state the student’s name,
student number, and group.
2. Presentation: Minimum 5 minutes presentation using power point slide.
