Introductory Message
Welcome to Mathematics 8 Learning Activity Sheets!

The Learning Activity Sheet is a product of the collaborative efforts of the

Schools Division of Capiz and DepEd Regional Office VI - Western Visayas through
the Curriculum and Learning Management Division (CLMD). This is developed to
guide the learning facilitators (teachers, parents and responsible adults) in helping the
learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.

The Learning Activity Sheet is self-directed instructional materials aimed to

guide the learners in accomplishing activities at their own pace and time using the
contextualized resources in the community. This will also assist the learners in
acquiring the lifelong learning skills, knowledge and attitudes for productivity and
employment.

For learning facilitator:

The Mathematics Activity Sheet will help you facilitate the leaching-learning
activities specified in each Most Essential Learning Competency (MELC) with minimal
or no face-to-face encounter between you and learner. This will be made available to
the learners with the references/links to ease the independent learning.

For the learner:

The Mathematics Activity Sheet is developed to help you continue learning even if
you are not in school. This learning material provides you with meaningful and
engaging activities for independent learning. Being an active learner, carefully read
and understand the instructions then perform the activities and answer the
assessments. This will be returned to your facilitator on the agreed schedule.

MATHEMATICS 8 ACTIVITY SHEET

Solving Corresponding Angles of Congruent Triangles

I. Learning Competency

 Solves corresponding parts of congruent triangles ( M8GE-IIIf-1).

II. Background Information for Learners

This lesson will focus on solving corresponding parts of congruent triangles

applying the postulates and theorems that you have learned in previous lessons.
In solving the corresponding parts of congruent triangles, see to it first if the
two triangles are congruent and what are the corresponding sides and
corresponding angles that are congruent. Apply your previous knowledge about the
theorems and postulates of triangle congruence. As a review , we have ASA (Angle-
Side-Angle), SAS (Side-Angle-Side),SSS (Side-Side-Side), AAS (Angle-Angle-
Side). With your previous knowledge about these postulates and theorems it will be
easy for you to solve corresponding sides of congruent triangles. Another lesson
that will help you in this lesson is about the sum of the angles of a triangle. You have
learned that the sum of the measures of a triangle is 180°.
Example: 1. Find the measure of the missing angle
A m<A + m<B + m<C = 180°
65° 65° + 55° + X° = 180°
120° + X° = 180°
X° = 180° - 120°
B 55° X° X° = 60°
C
The measure of angle C is 60°
