REPORT: WHAT ROLE EMOTIONS PLAY
IN OUR LIFE?

Emotions are the way through which we express and represent our self, in fact it is the central to our life.
Emotions give us freedom to achieve the fullness of our personality by inspiring or motivating us towards
what is good for us. Our whole life is surrounded by different emotions such as happiness, sadness, fear,
disgust etc. Everyone in this world has ability to encounter and express their emotions and feelings.
Since emotions and feelings are natural and this act is morally unbiased. Emotional reactions are both
physiological and psychological and these reactions impact on perception, learning and
performance.

Just like the Hollywood movie The Boy in Striped Pajamas, which is based on the
emotions of nine year boy Bruno and Shmuel a Jewish imprisoned boy. Bruno lived a carefree
and happy life in Berlin and his father was a commanding officer there. One day during World
War II his father was promoted to Poland for new soldering job at concentration camp for Jews
where they were imprisoned and he has to shift there along with his wife (Elsa), 9 years son
(Bruno) and 12 years daughter (Gretel). Bruno was missing his friends and paternal grandparents
in Berlin. He was sad and feeling bored there as they were isolated in their new house. Bruno
loves to explore things and play outdoor games, but his parent’s strictly forbidden him to explore
and play games in the garden because he can saw concentration camp from there and he will
obstinate to explore the camp which was not save. After few days Bruno disobey the commands
of his parents and went to explore the garden which brought him near the fence of concentration
camp where he mate a Jew boy of his age named Shmuel. Both the boys were unaware that what
is this camp and why there are so many people prisoned there. Bruno made friendship with
Shmuel. Bruno loved to spend time with Shmuel and visits regularly there often brought food for
his new friend. One day the commander Kotler, the friend of Bruno father saw Shmuel eating
food and shouted on him that from where you got this food, he told Bruno gave him this food.
When Kotler asked Bruno that you gave food to that imprisoned boy, so he denied because of
fear of his father punishment. In the next meeting with Shmuel, he was up sad by Bruno behavior
but later he forgave him. As Shmuel came in the camp with their parents but they were missing
and not there with. At the same time Bruno with his mother and sister was going to live with
another relative, before going he promised Shmuel to help him in finding his parents. The Bruno
escape from home and entered the camp by wearing Shmuel extra prison uniform outside the
fence of camp. While finding Shmuel parents both the boys and other prisoners were died due to
the bomb blast in the camp. Bruno parents came to know that Bruno has died when his mother
found Bruno’s discarded clothes by the fence and the movie ends with the message about the
casualties of the Holocaust.

The story of the movie is a real based story and it’s related to the Cannon-Bard Theory of
emotion because in this emotional arousal, behavior and experience released in the different
situations by the Thalamus.
