EASYDETECT TUBE: Considerations

• Use the grommets to pas the Easydetect tube

through the steel parts of the hood

• Fix the Easydetect tube using the tube attachments

• Maximum distance between tube attachments
250mm

Be careful with the space where the Easydetect tube is passed between
the cylinder and the hood as in case that this zone is so hot, it could burst
the tube and release the system by accident

7
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
EASYDETECT TUBE: Mounting

• Easydetect tube must be mounted in front

of the filters of the kitchen hood.

8
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3

EASYDETECT TUBE: Actuators

• Mounting the actuator directly near the worktop could endanger the operator if flames
flare up when the extinguishing commences.

EASYDETECT TUBE: Actuators

• In one extreme of the Easydetect tube you can connect the manual actuator or the
end of line adapter [Code: 125204] which has an internal non return valve and is
necessary for the pressurization of the Easydetect tube.
• Signal transmitter is connected to this device [Code: 052004]

11
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
CYLINDER MOUNTING

• Look for the best place to locate the cylinders. It must be as close as possible of the
protected kitchen
• Mount the cylinder bracket into the wall or on the ground
• Fix the cylinders to the brackets

12
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
DISCHARGE PIPE: Cylinder location

Piping layout of the ARMANfire Chef systems must follow one of the following circuits
depending on the systems type:

System P “Piccolo” System M “Mezzo” System G “Grande”

DISCHARGE PIPE: Cylinder location

According the maximum length of pipe allowable for each system (see table above), it’s
necessary to mount the cylinder as close as possible of the protected kitchen

14
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
DISCHARGE PIPE: Considerations

Piping layout for the SYSTEM P “Piccolo”

• Cylinder valve with 1 outlet

• 1 LINE of pipe with one branching
• 3 or 4 Nozzles depending of the
quantity of agent

15
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
DISCHARGE PIPE: Considerations

Piping layout for the SYSTEM M “MEDIO”

• Cylinder valve with 2 outlets

• 2 Independent LINES of pipe
• Both lines are symmetrically
(Same quantity of Nozzles)
• 5, 6 or 7 Nozzles depending
of the quantity of agent

16
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
DISCHARGE PIPE: Considerations

Piping layout for the SYSTEM G “GRANDE”

• Cylinder valve with 2 outlets

• 1 LINE of pipe which starts in
one outlet of the valve and
finish at the other outlet
• Discharge line must be a loop
• 8, 9 or 10 Nozzles depending of
the quantity of agent

17
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
DISCHARGE PIPE: Considerations

The piping is not included into the kits as the measures and props can vary
depending of the protected hazard, the transport price will be increased
and is cheaper purchase it locally. AIRfire recommends the follow piping
types:

Threaded pipe and Press fitting pipe, Olive couplings and

accessories accessories and couplings non threaded pipe

DISCHARGE PIPE: Considerations

• It’s very important that the agent is

discharged through the Nozzle from the
outside part of the kitchen to the inside part
of the kitchen
• By this way people is always save

Easydetect tube pressurization

Once the installation is finished and revised, next step is the pressurization of the Easydetect
tube though the End of line adapter [Code: 125204]
1. Unscrew the Signal transmitter [Code: 052004] of the end of line adapter
2. Screw the Filling connector M10 x 1 from the Starter kit of tools
3. Use the Easyfill to pressurize the system

ALL STEPS ARE EXPLAINED ON THE QUICK START MANUAL OF THE STARTER KIT

the system installation and maintenance

29
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
1. Tube scissors

- Ensure that the detecting tube has been cut off cleanly and perpendicularly
- There should be no debris or swart left
- Maximum deviation = 5º

30
ARFCHEF Installation_Training – rev. 3
2. Deburring tool

- Tube deburr tool has two entrance, first one for 8mm detecting tube and the second one for 6mm
detecting tube.
- First, insert the detecting tube into the 6mm entrance of deburr tool.
- While carefully inserting the tube, rotate the deburring tool until reaching the stop position.

- The result is a chamfer of 20º which

avoid damages to the connector’s
o-rings.
