TASK 1

LINE GRAPH - INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ENROLMENT

The line graph gives information about the number of Iranian, Greek and Turkish students who
enrolled at Sheffield University between 2005 and 2009.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons
where relevant.

The graph illustrates the amount of international students enrolment who come from Iran,
Greece, Turkey and study at Sheffield University from 2005 to 2009. Overall,during this period
Iranian and Turkish students increased while it shows the opposite in Greece students.

In 2005 Sheffield University had a few Iranian and Turkish students and it is about 40 and 20 people
respectively while it is nearly 180 Greek. Then in 2006 the number of Greeks decreased a little bit at
about 155 then fell sharply in 2007, at this time Iranian and Turkish students rose steadily, in 2007 the
Iranians and Greeks were equal and about 70 people. From 2007 to 2008 the Greek students
remained stable and reached the lowest point at more than 40 people in 2009. During this time the
Turkishs rises gradually and reach the top at about 120 while the Iranian grown enormous in 2008
and became the highest in 2009 at nearly 160 students

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Advances in science and technology and other areas of society in the last 100 years have
 transformed the way we live as well as postponing the day we die. There is no better lime to be
alive than now.

 To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

Nowadays thanks to the great strides in science and technology, other areas of society have
changed how we live and expand our longevity. Some people say that there is no better lime
to be alive than now. I do not totally agree with this statement due to the fact that everything
will have 2 aspects and science in some cases can cause many harm to the people and in
some problems there is no solution. 

Science helps people a lot, especially in medicine and the changing ways we work. Due to
the fact that many method cures and advanced techniques have been applied. Now people
can fight against many dangerous diseases by using modern vaccines and drugs. And the
world wide became more worth living because we decreased the amount of war and poverty
by using modern technology.

In other ways there are a fews problems that can not be solved by science at this time. We
have not found an effective treatment for cancer or HIV. And at this time there is Covid 19
which caused the death of many people and we are trying to manufacture the vaccine to
counter this dangerous virus. One more problem is that science makes people more lazy
and this leads to many deaths caused by inactivity.

In Conclusion the advanced science help people lots but we have to try more in the future to
make the world worth living
