Company Side
Biodegradable materials have been attracting a lot of attention in this century, and in
particular, specially since 2019. Several factors have contributed to this trend, such as
concerns about environmental sustainability, overexploitation of natural resources or
the high rate of population growth . In this context, these factors have contributed to
the emergence of circular economy policies and international directives aimed at the
development of more sustainable products and solutions, capable of not
compromising the needs of future generations.

Among the various biodegradable materials with potential interest, the most
important are polymeric materials, which, over the last few decades, have become
more and more fundamental to guarantee our quality of life. In this way, there has
been an increase in investment in research and development related to this theme,
which is expected to gradually reach high market shares in various application sectors,
such as packaging, one of the largest consumers of this type of product today.
