Jessica declared suspect in Mirna’s murder

– The police have named Jessica Kumala Wongso a suspect in the murder of Wayan Mirna Salihin,
who died soon after drinking cyanide-laced coffee at Olivier restaurant at Grand Indonesia, Central
Jakarta, on Jan. 6.

Jessica, who shared a table at the restaurant with Mirna and Hani on Jan. 6, was arrested by the
police on Saturday at a hotel in North Jakarta.
‘Jessica was arrested at 7 a.m. [on Saturday],’ said Jakarta Police general crimes director Sr. Corm.
Krishna Murti in Jakarta on Saturday, adding that it had been decided to declare Jessica a suspect
on Friday night.

Since the death of Mirna, the police focused their investigation on Jessica, searching her house and
questioning her several times as well as her maid, who reportedly discarded the pants Jessica wore
at the restaurant.

The police also questioned Hani, a relative of Mirna, and employees of Olivier restaurant and held
three reconstructions of Mirna’s death at the restaurant. They also sought help from the Australian
Federal Police to obtain information about Mirna’s life in the country.

Jessica visited the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) on Wednesday to file a
report, saying she was being treated like a suspect by the police and the media.
Before declaring Jessica a suspect, the police and prosecutors met on Friday to discuss the case.

Sinabung not National Disaster,
BNPB says – The National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) emphasized that the Mount
Sinabung’s eruption in North Sumatra was a regional and national disaster.
BNPB chief spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said the Karo and North Sumatra regional
administrations were still running normally and nothing had paralyzed the regional administrations.
Despite almost 95 percent of the assistance being from the central government, this is not a national
disaster,’ he told Antara news agency.
‘Even in the post-disaster phase, the central government will still be involved in rehabilitation and
reconstruction.’€
Sutopo said the problem with the Mt. Sinabung eruption is the absence of a Regional Disaster
Mitigation Agency (BPBD) in Karo regency.
Lionel Messi scored an injury-time penalty as
Argentina rescued a draw in their friendly with South
American rivals Uruguay in Tel Aviv.
Messi's Barcelona team-mate Luis Suarez had given Uruguay a second-half lead from a
free-kick before Martin Caceres handled in the area.

The Argentina captain nonchalantly rolled in his second international goal in as many
matches.

Edinson Cavani opened the scoring but Sergio Aguero levelled for Argentina.

Messi was in the mood from the outset as he rode four challenges in the first half before
retaining possession and picking himself off the floor to spin the nearest defender and
play the ball wide.

The forward, who scored on his first Argentina appearance since July in Friday's win
over Brazil, had a hand in both of his side's goals in Israel.

First, his delicate free-kick was met by a glancing header from Manchester City's
Aguero, and then he salvaged a draw from the spot with defeat looming after Argentina
goalkeeper Esteban Andrada could only palm Suarez's set-piece into the top corner.

Italy recorded one of the biggest wins in their history as they completed their
successful Euro 2020 qualifying campaign by thrashing Armenia 9-1.

Ciro Immobile and Nicolo Zaniolo both scored twice while Chelsea's Jorginho converted
a penalty in the second half.

Nicolo Barella, Alessio Romagnoli, Riccardo Orsolini and Federico Chiesa also scored
for the dominant Italians.

Edgar Babayan did manage to grab a consolation for Armenia with a stunning long-
range strike.

Babayan's finish stopped Italy equalling their biggest win - a 9-0 defeat of the United
States in Brentford in 1948.

However, the emphatic victory continues an impressive turnaround in fortunes under

former Manchester City boss Robert Mancini.

The Italian took charge of the national team following their failure to qualify for the 2018
World Cup and led them to 10 wins from 10 in qualifying for Euro 2020 - conceding just
four goals - as they finished top of Group J.
