Assignment Objectives:

Upon the completion of assignment, students will be able to:

 Identify the different stages of development as presented by Eric Erikson.

 Apply learned knowledge in real life settings.

Question :1

You have read about Eric Erikson theory in lecture 11 of your course in detail. Following are few
scenarios related to the stages of development presented by Erikson. You are supposed to read
them in detail and identify the correct stage of development discussed in each scenario. After that
justify your selection giving at least four points:
Scenario Stage (1*5) Justification (3*5)
Nawazish is a 1 year old
baby. Her parents are the
only support which she has.
At this stage, Nawazish
feels afraid when a stranger
is present in the room but
she becomes stable as soon
as she sees either of her
parents.
Kareem is a 10 years old
boy. He has several friends
of the same age. Kareem
has recently won a race for
his school and feels that
this achievement has
increased his self-esteem.
Dawood is a 19 years old
young man. He is
extremely popular amongst
his friends. Dawood has
decided to become a
psychologist because the
rest of his class was opting
for to become engineers,
doctors and lawyers. In
order to become
independent, Dawood even
started earning and stopped
take financial support from
his parents.
Ayesha is a 45 years old
woman. She is a mother of
3 children. She also runs a
small NGO where she
helps other poor women by
providing them with
opportunities for learning
and making their lives
better.
Farhan is a 60 years old
man. He is now retired
from his job and spends
most of his time gardening
at his home. He often
contemplates on his past
 and feels satisfied with
what he has achieved.

You are supposed to use the following tabular format:

Each scenario carries 4 Marks
