The Road to fossil-free transport.

▪ To arrive at a fossil-free future, DHL has introduced Pilot trucks. Together with
Volvo Trucks, they running a world-first pilot project to speed up the
introduction of fully electric trucks in heavy-duty, long-distance transport.

Decarbonizing the freight shipping.

▪ While carbon offsetting has a positive impact on the environment, it doesn’t

reduce the transport sector’s carbon footprint. Carbon “insetting” opens a new
and very promising pathway to decarbonizing the global freight transportation
network.

Leveraging technology to get airports ready for disaster during a pandemic.

▪ The COVID-19 crisis has disrupted DHL’s Get Airports Ready for Disaster
(GARD) workshops. Thier disaster management experts are now deploying
state-of-the-art wearable collaboration technology to keep the program alive and
expand its reach despite travel restrictions.

Blue Ocean, Green Fuel.

▪ With so many of the goods transported around the world carried by ocean-going
cargo ships, addressing ways to reduce the sector’s carbon footprint is an urgent
priority. A new DHL Global Forwarding’s biofuel solution is starting to make
waves.

Breaking down barriers to global trade.

▪ DHL GoTrade initiative aims to support international trade and sustainable

economic growth by increasing the number and volume of small and medium-
sized companies trading across borders.

Sustainability starts in needy communities

▪ From care packs in Singapore to disaster relief in Sri Lanka, DHL’s GoHelp
program has mobilized DHL people to volunteer their time and logistics
expertise in their communities and beyond all in the name of delivering help.

Smart route optimization algorithm is making logistics greener.

▪ Greenplan, a DHL-financed start-up, is driving sustainable logistics with its

route optimization algorithm that lowers operational costs and the
environmental impact of deliveries.
