JOINT INFORMATIVE MOTION

TO THE HONORABLE COURT

COMES NOW the United States and the Defendant, Jorge Javier Marrero Gerena,

through the undersigned attorneys, and very respectfully state as follows:

First, the parties request to be excused by the Court for inadvertently and by mistake

not filing a status report due on May 13, 2021. We proceed to do so today. The United

States has provided discovery relating to the pending charges of coercion and enticement

of minors and production of child pornography. The Defendant has continued to review

the numerous documents, chats and photographs. The Defendant requires additional time

to complete the discovery review and discuss any legal issues to determine whether he will

be pleading guilty or proceeding to trial. The parties are engaging in plea negotiations. The

Defendant requests 45 days to complete discovery review and case analysis and the parties

request that a further status conference or informative motion deadline be set after such

period.

The undersigned AUSA, who is lead prosecutor in this case and will be prepared to

answer any inquiries the Court may have, will be on leave from May 20 through May 28,

2021 and hereby requests that any status conference be set for a date after June 1, 2021.

WHEREFORE, the parties respectfully request that this Honorable Court take notice

of this informative motion and set the status conference or informative motion deadline

accordingly.
