Problem and its Background

In this chapter, the researchers want to create a system that can actually turn

billing process into a faster way. Give knowledge about what billing system change our daily

lives in the market, and give knowledge the business owners how the system work and how it

can help their billing process if they have the same system or why they need the same system

in their business.

Introduction

Today, people are getting more and more advanced and starts depending and trusting

technology in every aspect of their life. This study will give some idea of the pervasiveness of

the technological society. Many people used phone applications to alleviate problems in the

different parts of our life now. (e.g. land, hotel, airline), education, record management system.

But, technology not only has made things easier and reduced problems but also created some,

including a certain amount of culture shock as individuals attempt to deal with the new

technology. A major role of phone applications has been able to alleviate such problems, mainly

by making phone applications cheaper, faster, more reliable and easier to use. Information

technology plays a big role. However, if you’re not in the field of information technology

yourself, you might not know just how information technology touches your life. Read below

to find out how information technology plays a role in a number of different fields that you

might not have realized.

Rationale

The researchers choose this study to provide a system that helps every costumer’s

transaction lessen time, and let them do whatever things to do earlier. The system will make

every transaction easier. The system has also another system in administrative computer that

can manage the database. It will let the administrative user to add or edit record correctly, and

view or delete record properly.

Statement of the Objectives of the Study

To develop a windows-based application that uses store product information to use in

every transaction. In addition to designing and implementing this app and its supporting

infrastructure, there is a need to analyze how the app performs and how it can be of benefit to

both individual users and to society. Further, by applying my theoretical knowledge about

general programming developers will gain practical experience in Windows programming in “the

real world”.

General Objective. The proponents aim is to develop a system entitled, “Billing

Inventory Management System”.

Specific Objective. To achieved the general objective, the study sought the following

specific objectives.

1. To design and develop a computer-based application entitled “Billing Inventory

Management System”.

2. To evaluate the system in terms of:

 Accuracy

 Functionality
  User Interface Design

 Security

Scope and Delimitation

The coverage of the system for all people in the same business, not only the business

owners and of course the employees and the costumers.

Thus, the system has the following scope:

 Only authorized personnel can use the system.

 Cashier is the only one who can use the system in billing transaction and update

the database

 Administrator is the only one who can update records in the database and can use

the system in billing inventory management transaction

 Print receipt or Invoice after billing transaction.

Significance of the Study

This significance of the study is to create system for the people who wants to have an

easier, faster, trustworthy and less hustle billing process.

For the Costumers. The system will benefit every costumer to take less time inside

the store. This will give the costumers more time to do anything earlier. The system manages

the billing process and it will be faster than manual billing.

For the Researchers. This study will help the researchers in building up their self-

esteem and confidence as Information Technology students in creating useful android

applications that will help the user’s and make their life better.
 For the Future Researchers. The developed study can be used as a reference for

future researchers who will be conducting, developing, improving and enhancing a system

related to this. It will also help IT students to boost their interest and learn to apply their skills

in using programming languages. It may initially if not totally inspire or motivate them and be

enlightened.

Definition of Terms

To a clearly and understanding of the study, the following terms are theoretically and/or

operationally defined.

Billing. may refer to the process of sending an invoice to customers for goods or

services. Computer. a device that can be instructed  to carry out arbitrary set

arithmetic or logical operations automatically.

Database. an organized collection of data. It is the collection of schemas,

tables, queries, reports, views, and other objects. The data are typically organized to model

aspects of reality in a way that supports processes requiring information, such as modeling the

availability of rooms in hotels in a way that supports finding a hotel with vacancies.

Information. is that which informs. In other words, it is the answer to a question of

some kind. It is thus related to data and knowledge, as data represents values attributed to

parameters, and knowledge signifies understanding of real things or abstract concepts.

Inventory management. is a discipline primarily about specifying the shape and

placement of stocked goods. It is required at different locations within a facility or within many

locations of a supply network to precede the regular and planned course of production and   of

stocks materials.
 Information Technology. I.T. is the application of computers to store, study, retrieve,

transmit, and manipulate data, or information, often in the context of a business or other

enterprise.

Maintenance. the process of maintaining or preserving someone or something, or the

state of being maintained.

Security. the degree of resistance to, or protection from, harm.

Technology. is the collection of techniques, skills, methods and processes used in the

production of goods or services or in the accomplishment of objectives, such as scientific

investigation.

Transaction.  an agreement, communication, or movement carried out between a

buyer and a seller to exchange an asset for payment.
