The full armour of God
Let’s look at the articles of our warfare. The full armor of God. The
Bible is clear in 1Peter 5:8
Ephesians 6:10
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full
armor of God, so that you can take stand against the devil’s schemes.
..for our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against
principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. – Ephesians
6:11
Verse 13 states
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil
comes, you may be able to stand, and after you have done everything
to stand, stand firm

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with
the breastplate of righteousness in place and with your feet fitted with
the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all
this take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all
flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the
sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.

The Roman sword was short double edged and tapered to allow
for both slashing and stabbing. To allow for a firm grip the hilt
was ridged and knobbed to keep it from slipping.

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness,
for his a babe. But solid food belongs to those are of full age, that is, those who by
reason of CONSTANT use have their senses exercised to discern both good and
evil.
It’s the constant use, the frequent studying of the word that
makes you more skillful with the word, it’s the training that makes
you a better swordsman effective in battle, winning frequently

Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible and lauds the
benefits of knowing the word. The psalmist uses words like
precepts, law, commandments, instruction all to describe the
word of God, the sword of the spirit.

you. that’s verse 11
Psalm 119:105
..praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit. That’s
verse 18 of Ephesians 6
Prayer is the boost for the believer, it’s like the energy pack for the
christian.
