meal plan

diabetic
person with
the
participation of
the patient and
family.
A meal plan
should include:
- Plate method:
(The plate
method must
contain
protein, health
fats, produce
and starchy
carbs. 1/2 of
the plate
should be
veggies, 1/4
protein and 1/4
starch.
- Eat regular
meals &
snacks (to
help keep your
blood sugar in
check).
- Check blood
glucose daily
(Teach the
family about
the importance
of checking
the blood
glucose daily;
Encourage the
father to buy a
blood glucose
strips)
- Encourage the
patient to take
the medication
regularly.

especially the

comply with
the
medications
and ensure to
follow the
correct dosage

- Avoid taking
food that
contains too
much sugar,

excessive
alcohol intake
