Script:

Apostle Paul’s trial to death

Narrate: I am Paul, a Jew, born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but brought up in the city of Rome. I was a persecutor of the Lord and
his people to the point of death, tying up both men and women and putting them in prison. But right after then as I entered
the road of Damascus a bright light flashed around me, blinding my eyes. And I hear the Lord spoke to me “Saul, Saul,
why have you forsaken me?” and with the least of my expectations God chose me as his witness and here I am
passionately declaring to the world of his greatness and as I risk my life for him to be exalted above all.

Scene 1: James’ house

James: I’ve been hearing rumors Paul, saying that you’re teachings are pointing against Moses’ law.

Paul: rumors… I don’t deny and disregard the fact that the laws we are obliged to follow are significant, James… in fact
we go by the laws and live by it as followers until Christ came. Although we are not subject to those rules but what
matters most regardless is faith.

James: But you do know and understand that Jews are zealous and rigorous to the law.

Paul: I know, but the teachings I preach are not of condemnation to the law but to reveal to them where they so mistakenly
rely their faith in.

James: What will happen now, for they are simply bound to hear that you have arrived? We have four men under the vow,
suppose you join them tomorrow of the purification, pay expenses and cut your hair that they will know there is no truth
in the stories about you, but that you yourself observe the Law. Will you?

Paul: Cut my hair? (chuckles) I understand and I will.

Narrate: it took 7 days of purification as I agreed upon joining them as I also participated in expenses. I went to the
temple and gave notice of the completion of the days of purification, when the sacrifice would be offered for each of us.
The days are almost over, when the jews from the province of asia who had seen me stirred the crowd…

Scene2: At the Temple

(Paul was seen by one of the Jews from Asia they stirred up the whole crowd and seized him)

Jew: Men of Israel, help! This is the man who is teaching everybody everywhere to despise our people, our Law and this
place. Why, he has even brought Greeks into the Temple and he has defiled this holy place!!

(The crowd turned into an uproar and attempt on kicking and beating him to the ground until he was dragged outside the
temple).

(They were trying to kill him when a report reached the ears of the colonel of the regiment that the whole of Jerusalem
was in an uproar.)

Commanderl: stop all of you this instant! to what purpose and intention are you beating this man up for?

Jew: he’s the man that breaks the law and defiled the temple!

(the crowd began to lose control and shouted one thing and another of the accusation)

Commander: well then if you accuse him of breaking the law then he should be dealt with under the law, this kind of
situation shouldn’t be lead to the case of murder. Chain him and take him to the barracks general! I shall speak to him
myself.
(Again the crowd shouted one thing and another mainly about the command to kill and get rid of Paul)

Scene3: Roman Citizen

Centurion: he must be flogged for teaching about Jesus of Nazareth and declaring a revolution against rome.

Commander: Flog him then (at the centurion)

(as the centurion was about to whip)

Paul: Is it legal for you to flog a Roman citizen who hasn’t even been found guilty?

(the centurion stopped and went to the commander and told him of what he has heard paul say).

Centurion: what are we to do? This man is a roman citizen.

Commander: tell me, are you truly a roman citizen?

Paul: yes I am. I was born a citizen.

Commander: well then we shouldn’t be a fool to kill a roman citizen, bring him inside.

Scene 4: Council

Commander: I bring him before your council since the people want him killed but I cannot as do so since he is born a
roman citizen. You will decide of any proper punishment for this man.

(Paul was brought to the front before the councils)

Paul: My brothers, I have fulfilled my duty to God in all good conscience to this day.

1priest: Strike him in the mouth of his blasphemy!!

(Paul was slapped after)

Paul: God will strike you, you whitewashed wall! You sit there to judge me according to the law, yet you yourself violate
the law by commanding that I be struck!

P1: How dare you insult God’s high priest! So if you follow the law then you know what it is demanded!

Paul: Brothers, I did not realize that he was the high priest; for it is written: ‘Do not speak evil about the ruler of your
people.’ And I apologize. My brothers, I am a Pharisee, descended from Pharisees. I stand on trial because of the hope of
the resurrection of the dead, God has spoken to me.

2priest: this is blasphemy!

Pharisee: quiet, we find nothing wrong with this man he follows the law.

1priest: but he despised the Law of Moses! (an uproar happened).

Scene5: A plot to kill Paul

(a group of jews are gathered, and went to the chief priests and elders and said..)

Jew1: We have taken a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul.
Jew2: and we should act with courage, if they won’t do it according to law then we’ll do it without the law, and may the
Lord bless us.

Jew3: We are ready to kill him before he gets here.

(paul’s nephew heard of this that he went to paul and told what he heard)

Nephew: Paul! A group of 40 jew men has planned to kill you and took a solemn oath that they won’t eat nor drink until
you are.

Paul: Take this young man to the commander; he has something to tell him.(tells to the cantaurian)

Nephew: some Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul before the Sanhedrin tomorrow on the pretext of wanting more
accurate information about him. 21 Don’t give in to them, because more than forty of them are waiting in ambush for him.
They have taken an oath not to eat or drink until they have killed him. They are ready now, waiting for your consent to
their request.

Commander: sighs…good, I will sent paul to ceasar. Go on your way and tell no one of this.

Scene6: Cesarea jail the day of exile

Narrate: the travel to Rome was another opportunity God has given to me to proclaim about him, but it never comes
without trial as the storm passes on, and by faith I have survived. For years on, I have been testifying about him as I have
testified in Jerusalem. Even to Ceaser and his Companions. And the year has come when Emperor Nero became the ruler
of Rome and persecuted and imprisoned every Christians on sight, and today is the day where I will last write of my letter
to timothy and to you my brothers and sisters.

Paul: (Paul’s last written work in 2 Timothy)

1 I solemnly charge you before God and Christ Jesus, who is going to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing
and his kingdom: 2 Preach the message, be ready whether it is convenient or not, reprove, rebuke, exhort with complete
patience and instruction. 3 For there will be a time when people will not tolerate sound teaching. Instead, following their
own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves, because they have an insatiable curiosity to hear new things. 4
And they will turn away from hearing the truth, but on the other hand they will turn aside to myths. 5 You, however, be
self-controlled in all things, endure hardship, do an evangelist's work, fulfill your ministry. 6 For I am already being
poured out as an offering, and the time for me to depart is at hand. 7 I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have
kept the faith! 8 Finally the crown of righteousness is reserved for me. The Lord, the righteous Judge, will award it to me
in that day - and not to me only, but also to all who have set their affection on his appearing.

2 Tim 4:1-8

Centurion: Such a pity for a Roman to be imprison here.

Commander: Tell me Paul what are you doing amongst the Jews for a Roman as you are?

Paul: I teach about the love of God and Jesus’ Resurrection from the dead.

Commander: Why compromise with such absurd belief? And look where you’re faith had brought you!

Paul: I don’t depend on what the world see is greater result of faith to them. For it is a greater faith when one serves God
above all else regardless the circumstance, even facing death, id still stand by faith, For it is the love of God and his
promises that will suffice.

Commander: Such great faith then you have. (unlocks the prison cell)
Paul: Indeed so, but even my great faith cannot measure the amount of his sacrifice for us. So I live and teach not to
speak of myself, but of God.

Commander: But you’re a roman, who used to be a well-known persecutor.

Paul: Indeed so, I was a persecutor who persecutes Christians, and now I am a persecuted Christian.

Commander: Indeed the tables have turned. And you took a great risk for this faith. I would admire you for that.

Paul: It is by grace that I am saved through faith and not of my own doing, it is a gift of God, and it is not by works, so no
one would boast. (faces the commander)

Commander: Ah, humility and that was what brought Jesus of Nazareth’s’ death and so as his followers and then…you
after.

Paul: It is as commanded that he should be known to all, thus is an obligation to all God’s children. But when none of us
believe and does as he command, whose children then are we?

Centurion: ppfft… Christians, we are the children of Rome, you fool. Your time is almost up, so don’t waste your breath
on your Jesus of Nazareth.

Narrate: 12 I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that my situation of my imprisonment has actually turned out to
advance the gospel: 13 The whole imperial guard and everyone else knows that I am in prison for the sake of Christ, 14
and most of the brothers and sisters, having confidence in the Lord because of my imprisonment, now more than ever dare
to speak the word fearlessly. Christ is being proclaimed, and in this I rejoice.Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 20 My
confident hope is that I will in no way be ashamed but that with complete boldness, even now as always, Christ will be
exalted in my body, whether I live or die. 21 For to me, living is Christ and dying (enters the sound of axe) is gain.
