The document discusses animation tools in Adobe Flash. It describes the workspace, including the stage and timeline. It outlines selection, drawing, pen and color tools that can be used to create and modify objects. It also discusses keyframes and different types of tweens (classic, motion, shape) that are used to animate objects over time by transitioning their properties between keyframes.

Animation: TOOLS Going around… • The Workspace – Menu bar: has File, Edit, View, Window, and Help – Two types of Work Area: • Stage: A white area serves as virtual canvas in creating elements, draw pictures, display text, and make objects move across the screen. A playback stage. • Backstage: A gray area where scratches and other elements not needed in the stage can be done on this area. – Timeline • It contains empty and filled keyframes and a playhead (red marker). It also contain controls that are commonly seen from media players. Animation: TOOLS Going around… • Selection Tools – It allows setting attributes separately, and even to move them independently to create unusual shapes. • Selection tool allows to select parts of the object or drag over a portion of it to create a selection rectangle. • Sub selection tool allows to adjust a line-section drawn with the pen tool, either straight or curved. • Free Transform tool used in turning, scaling, skewing and distorting elements. • 3D Rotation is used to spin icons and turn them along with a 3D matrix. • Lasso tool allows to draw a choice freehand zone to select items. Animation: TOOLS Going around… • Drawing and Pen Tools – It allows setting attributes separately, and even to move them independently to create unusual shapes. • The Pen tool is the most powerful drawing tool. It particularly draw curves and create and modify lines. This tool draws by establishing anchor points that it then connects. • The Type tool allows entering of text characters that can be formatted in character panel. • The Line tool allows to create a line, which is modifiable. • The Rectangle tool allows drawing of four-sided shape. Its sub tools are oval and primitive shapes. • The Pencil tool allows to draw freeform lines and shapes. • The Brush tool is related to Photoshop, where it can be used to brush selected color Animation: TOOLS Going around… • Color and IK Tools – Bone tool is an inverse kinematics (IK) tool with which one can create armatures for shapes or connected symbols instances. – Paint Bucket Tool is used to complete a filling color in any confined region. – Eyedropper Tool is used to collect and duplicate a hue(color) from another item on a dye detector. – Eraser Tool allows removing of drawings from vectors. – Spray Brush Tool allows spraying paints throughout the phase the library’s film clip icon. Animation: TOOLS Going around… • Zooming and Panning Tools – Hand Tool: In the magnifying method, used to cover the entire stage. – Zoom Tool: Used to enlarge the stage region. • Stroke and Fill – It allows to modify hue of the stroke. – It is used to modify the background color of an element. Animation: TOOLS Adobe Flash • File formats • *.swf – ShockWave Flash • *.fla • *.flv – Flash Video Animation: TOOLS Keyframe • It is a frame that are key to an animation. • Every frame is a keyframe. By creating keyframes, specify the duration and the speed of an animated sequence. • A keyframe represents a new instance or copy of an object, such as a new instance of a movie clip symbol. A keyframe is represented by a solid dot. • Types of Keyframes – Blank: black outlined white-filled circle does not hold any object/task. – Filled: black-filled circle, contains an object task for animation. Animation: TWEENS • It is basically an animation command that allows to animate an object. • Types of tweens • Shape • Motion • Classic Animation: TWEENS • Types of tweens • Classic – A classic tween is used when making objects fade in and out; or move across a scene. – Classic tweens are also used to change the size of an object. Animation: TWEENS • Types of tweens • Motion – Indicated by a black dot at the beginning of the tween span; – Intermediate tweened frames have a light blue background best for creating movement, size, and rotation changes, fades, and color effects. – It can have property keyframes, which are represented as small diamonds along the tween span – Transition between two states of the same symbol Animation: TWEENS • Types of tweens • Shape – Transition of similar vector-based shapes between key frames. – Indicates a black dot at the beginning keyframe; intermediate frames have a black arrow with a light green background
