5. RESPONSIBILITIES
5.1. Project Engineer
Will be responsible for following:
1. To ensure that all the preparation and application works are carried out according to the Contract
Specification and manufacturer’s data sheets.
2. To ensure that the progressing of works is carried out according to the planned program and as per
the approved method statement.
3. To ensure that all the equipment and material required in executing the work are available according
to the planned construction program.
4. To Co-ordinate with the Main contractor MEP Coordinator & Safety officer, for a safe and proper
execution of the works.
5. To co-ordinate with civil engineer for access to required area.

5.2. Site Engineer


Will be responsible for the following:
1. To ensure that the works are carried out according to the Contract Specifications, approved method
statement and the manufacturer’s material data sheets.
1. To provide all necessary information and distribute responsibilities to his team.
2. To monitor the progress of work in relation with the work program and to report to the Project
coordinator.
3. To co-ordinate with the safety officer and to ensure that the works are carried out in safe practicing
methods.
4. To ensure that the foreman is fully aware of the work sequences and related testing frequencies
before proceeding with the installation.

5.3. Foreman
Will be responsible for the following:

1. The foreman will carry out his duties by maintaining continuous coordination with the site engineer
on daily basis, and ensure proper distribution of the workforce in the required and planned locations.
2. To ensure that his assistant foreman/charge hands are aware of the job requirements and they have
enough information to carry out their duties properly.
3. To ensure in consultation with the site engineer that the manpower involved in the work are moving
as agreed and planned for the work.
4. To ensure that the daily work is progressing as planned and advice the site engineer of any
requirement for additional resources.
5. To control disposal of waste materials according to the instructions received from the site engineer.
To ensure full coordination with the safety officer to maintain safe working and proper
housekeeping of the site, following the approved safety measures and further ensure that all his
working team are aware of the same prevent accident and losses.
6. To inform the site engineer of the areas ready for inspection.

6. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT


The tools & equipment’s that will be engaged for installation of Water Distribution Pumps are as follows:
1. Crane and appropriate slings
2. Pipe cutter/hacksaw
3. Measuring Tape
4. Spirit level
5. Technician Tools

7. METHOD AND PROCEDURES


7.1. Material
1. As per approved materials and sizes and location as per approved shop drawings.
2. Storage/Protection
3. Materials shall be delivered at site in standard manufacturer’s packaging. It shall be placed in dry,
clean area and protected from weather.

7.2. Preparation
1. The Halgan Modular Grease Trap units should be inspected and approved by the engineer before
shifting the same from the store yard to the installation place.
2. Make sure that during the shifting process of the Halgan Modular Grease Trap unit from store yard to
the installation place that the unit is covered and protected.
3. Make sure that the concrete encasement for the Halgan Modular Grease Trap unit has been
prepared/cast according to the dimension/details mentioned in the approved shop drawing.
4. Make sure that all related plumbing piping works have been inspected and approved by the engineer.

7.3. Installation
1. Install and position the Halgan Modular Grease trap in the prepared concrete pit as per the approved
shop drawing.
2. Inter connect the Halgan MGT’s as per approved shop drawing using approved pipes and fittings and
submit for inspection before backfilling.

3. After approval of the installation, it is important to fill the Halgan MGT with water before final back
filling and ensure that no leakage in the interconnecting pipes.
4. The final backfilling material shall approved and be free from foreign materials such as builder’s waste,
bricks, blocks and concrete.
5. The back fill shall be compacted to provide stabilizing medium for the Halgan MGT’s.
6. Install and position the concrete slab cover over the Halgan MGT’s ensuring that the concrete opening
is aligned

8. HEALTH AND SAFETY


1. Strictly followed as per the manufacturers Health & Safety recommendations for handling and use of
the materials. Ensure all involved personnel shall be aware of the same.
